I’m the idiot who thought the Lakers would work and had the Nets in 1st 🤦🏻

Should’ve realized they wouldn’t stay healthy at the very least. I always underrate the grizzlies too…I think I picked them for last place in the west the bubble year and they almost made the playoffs.

Just bumping this to the 2nd page.

Yeah, it is really interesting to look where we were all off by quite a bit.

We average 7 places off for the Hawks for example!

Ya the hawks got everyone…they were a young team on the rise last year that made it to the conference finals..would’ve been pretty bold for someone to think they’d drop down to the play-in. Makes last years run seem a touch flukey

Thanks for updating these, Indy. It's fun to track how close we were and laugh at some of the picks we made.

I'm pretty happy with my West predictions. The only team I was substantially off about is the Warriors; I was a little too hard on them, thinking it'd take them longer to figure out how to reintegrate Klay with all their other pieces.

My East picks are pretty cringe. I loved the Hawks and they've really been disappointing. I also thought that Carlisle was going to overachieve with the Pacers but they've been bad. I didn't see the Cavs coming at all. And I completely disrespected the Raptors, which was stupid even at the time, given the coaching and leadership and culture they have there; there was no way they were ever going to be last in the East. I feel vindicated for predicting that the Knicks would be bad, and for not totally buying into the Nets hype (I had them at 4th). I was close on some of the top teams like Bucks and Heat, but in general my picks were pretty far off.

So for the east, our big misses as a group were:
Hawks, Cavs, Nets, and Raptors

For the west:
Just the Grizzlies.

Individually for the East besides the ones we missed on as a group:
Mori and pickle on the Pacers

Individually on the West besides the Grizz:
Mori on the Warriors
Indy on the Wolves
Split on the Lakers
pickle on the Blazers

lol. true!

And I am sure this will change before the season is over, but I have 8 of the 15 West teams in their exact position.

I have all 15 of the 15 West teams. Most of them are in a different order, though.

Pretty happy with my West, but oof, the East. Raptors, Pacers, Hawks, Celtics, Cavs. I missed on a lot of teams by WIDE margins. Oh well.

To be fair, the Hawks had just gone to the ECF; it was not crazy to think they'd be better this year. The Celtics -did- start out really rough before catching fire. The Raptors do have a really weird roster, and they've overachieved. The Cavs were young and surprised much of the league. The Pacers IMO are my biggest "should have known they would not be nearly as good as I ranked them" whiff.

Suns, Mavs, Rockets, and Thunder were collectively are closest picks. Raptors, Grizzlies, Hawks, and Lakers were our worst.

Suns and Cavs I nailed right on, but y’all had more direct hits.

Thanks for doing this Indy, was a lot of fun.

You were off by 1 spot or less on 15 teams! That is pretty amazing.

None of the rest of us had better than 9 (Mori=7, pickle=9, Indy=9)

If you expand that to 2 games or less, you were up to 19 of the 30 teams. (Mori=15, pickle=13, Indy=16)
