Game Day: Cavs (3-3) @ Suns (1-3), Sat 10/30/21

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: BSAZ, NBALP

Come watch the birthday boy, Book, put up big numbers on said birthday (number 25). Just a hunch. These Cavs are pretty good. Rubio comes off the bench. This is however a back-to-back for them as they wilted at the end of their game with the Lakers last night. No excuses for the Suns on game 2 of a 5 game homestand. It's time to make a stand and start winning some games.

Go Suns!!!

Not sure what the excuses could be for that 1st qtr. A lot of defensive breakdowns in the halfcourt and not getting back in transition. We're still cold from 3 which is allowing teams to build and extend their leads. Paul still looks out of sorts and can't shake free for his jumper. Cavs on a B2B so looking to see if their legs start getting heavy at some point.

On the bright side, JaVale went coast to coast for a great highlight.

Suns going smaller with Paul, Shamet, Cam, Crowder and Stix. Cam finally hits a 3 after the Suns start 0-10. Guys are just off, the 3s have to start dropping eventually.

Good minutes from Stix. Blocked Rubio on one of his fadeaway leaners, has a few boards and got to the FT line after getting fouled in the paint.

Is .5 not a thing anymore? Looked like we were running it to perfection during preseason.
Go Suns!

19-2 Suns scoring run, 3s started falling and the defense tightened up. Really good stretch from DA getting fouls in the paint. He's been getting more looks inside, not just lobs up near the rim. Of course we'll need to see if he keeps getting touches in the 2nd half. 2nd qtr felt more like Suns basketball once the starters came back in midway thru.

Let's see if they keep him involved 2nd half.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I felt like Ayton really changed the time if the game there in the second quarter. I wish we would go to him more when the 3s aren't falling

The Suns shooters have certainly warmed up in the 3rd.

This 3rd quarter is a welcome sight. Suns have built a nice cushion. My blood pressure is slowly dropping ...

Lots of hero ball. Saw Monty mouth "what the fuck are they doing" after that shot clock violation by Booker.
