BTW, we could use some more volunteers to do weekly threads for some of the coming weeks this season. Can anyone step up and help out by signing up? Here's the link to the Google Doc:

Whoa. That Smart tweet. Dissension among the ranks for sure. Not that what he’s saying isn’t probably 100% true.

That's only one tweet of his entire quote. The whole quote is even better (worse?). Admittedly I'm kind of glad the C's are struggling because they've been overrated for a while. Ainge did a poor job setting them up for the future and then bailed. Now they're in no man's land.

I've read some stuff about Smart having favor with Brad Stevens and it being a part of their poor performance last season. Something is up with that mix of guys, and it's kind of funny they thought Schroder and Josh Richardson would help them. They could be in the lottery with how this is starting to look compared to the rest of the East.

I was pretty high on the Celtics. Thought that swapping out Kemba for Horford addresses some of their bigs issues and now everyone knows their role, smart being the point guard and all. But yeah last year smart was in the mix when they had locker room issues. If he’s traded I’m interested. Always wanted a fiery guy on the roster. Jae is that but I’d love another guy who can sacrifice his body and his stats. Tho we probably don’t have them contracts or assets to get him.

Thanks. Yeah, you're right. Big difference in context and not as harsh.

I was hesitant to doubt Simmons' mental health claims because it's a sensitive subject and so hard to accurately perceive, unlike a physical injury which is usually pretty easy to identify.

It's looking like I shouldn't have been hesitant, and it's more likely that he's using mental health as an excuse to get paid while not actively fulfilling his duties as a member of the 76ers. So not only is he a bad teammate and a drama queen, he's a huge fucking asshole who's diminishing the significance of mental health in general.

Anybody catch Barkley's comment on Zion last night?
There was a clip of Williamson doing a light drill before the game.
He was wearing a long sleeve sweatshirt and a hoodie over it, and appeared less than svelte.

Barkley watched the clip and said, "... look like me and Shaq had a baby ..."

Shaq laughed so hard he could barely talk for a couple of minutes ...

I remember you all talking about how he was a risk to draft because of his weight and here we are…

I feel bad for the Pelicans. It must be so depressing to have one of the league's brightest young stars but then have him show up every season out of shape and injure himself. And to have largely incompetent management that can't put a good team around him.

Stan Van Gundy was talking in the game about Zion(and Stan would know as he was the coach) he mentioned Zion was 10% body fat last year, so it’s not like he’s way out of shape, he’s just massive. Probably has too much muscle mass to be honest.

As for this year, he had a foot injury, so kinda hard to stay in tip top shape when you have to take it easy on your foot. But yes, it does appear he needs to cut weight somehow.
