Yes the guys made their run in the 2nd half and despite everyone saying the Spurs would not quit I'm sure they were hoping so. Looks like some mental fatigue kicked in during the 4th with a fair amount of lapses in concentration.

Anyone watching a decent amount of games knows that Vassell shot is pure. I felt both CP3 and Book didn't look to crowd him enough and were helping off him one pass away which had me so confused. Also CP3 must know Dejounte has some of the best hands in the league, I have him for a couple steals and probably a couple more deflections when CP3 was in possession.

Either way we got over the line
It wasn't an On Brand win for a Clutch Rating because we got outscored in the last 5mins this time but on to the east coast we go

Closer than it needed to be. Still, hats off to the second unit for playing well -- Shamet, Payne and McGee, in particular.

Phewwwww.

The broadcast showed a graphic saying this is our longest winning streak since 1992-93. Wow. This is a special team.

Way too close there at the end, especially with how we well we were playing and had built up a few leads. You know the Spurs aren't going to go away, but we still wasted too many possessions and fell asleep defensively around the basket. Glad we got the W and the starters still played around their usual minutes. The bench was huge, their best collective effort of the season.

17 straight wins in 2006-07 in the longest. (they also had a 15-game win streak that season)

Yeah, I don't know why they had that graphic on TV (twice). Someone screwed up.

Remember when the Suns started 0-13 in 1996 and snapped their 13-game losing streak the day before Thanksgiving? I'm afraid they're going to snap their 13-game winning streak the day before Thanksgiving this year.

This is the most encouraged I’ve been about Ayton. I’ve only watched like 4 games live this year and he’s already selling me on a max deal.

Yep, that's a max player move. Read and react with a hard two-dribble move to the rim. Still would like to see him finish with more force in that situation, but it's progress.

Ya I’m just imagining what Amaré would do there…wouldn’t that be something if we could infuse Ayton with Amaré’s aggressiveness.

You mean only on the offensive end, right?

That's part of it, but Ayton just doesn't have Amare's explosiveness. He's not a great leaper without much time to gather.

I just want the aggressive play. Not a comment on Amare’s defense. Ayton is obviously much better, but I don’t think Amare’s problems on defense were aggression related.

Ya that’s true, but this play he did have quite a bit of time. I think he could have thrown down on Poeltl if he tried. But I’m not trying to bag on Ayton here, I was very pleased and encouraged by his play tonight. I can live with a lay-up attempt if it’s on an aggressive play off the dribble, especially one he drew a foul on.
