Davis was better at forward though - sure, he wasn't much of a rebounder but his scoring there more than made up for it.

He had that elbow injury early in the 81-82 season that hurt his shooting.
And then hurt his knee slipping on a wet floor in LA in '84.
And MacLeod started messing with his minutes after Davis' first two years with the Suns.
Still, Davis shot over 51% from the field in his career despite being a jump-shooting, perimeter-oriented player.

Will never forget the near perfect night against Seattle.
He went 15-15 from the field and 6-6 from the foul line ... and then missed his final shot.
Window is open again ... blue skies ahead?

I watched that game too.

MacLeod's insistence on playing so many of his bench players and limiting the starters irked Westphal to the point of demanding a trade. Which brought in DJ, who MacLeod insisted on getting rid of after three years.

Mac had problems with strong egos. Westy, DJ, Lucas ... all shipped out because they argued/disagreed with him.
