Man, I learned from the Orlando broadcast that Bismack lost his father to Covid at 61 years of age.

Yep, Suns went into the 4th up 22 and won by 27. Holiday looked good. Craig too.

I saw this live. She had to be drunk because I know I was after the Pacers game when I went behind the Toms and probably made a stupid face.

Pickle already responded, but I’ll just echo it. Counting stats were good, but he is a shockingly bad finisher inside the arc for an NBA player. He was 1-8 from 15 feet and in before hitting a garbage time jumper that the magic conceded because they thought he’d run out the clock (RoLo looked like he wanted to fight him). He also dribbles the ball way too much.
I hope Monty bumps him for Holiday in the rotation in short order.

Otherwise, this team is special. Best part of the game was finally being able to rest Book and CP.

Well, there’s only one Monty and I hope he does.Shabazz wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 11:47 pmPickle already responded, but I’ll just echo it. Just finished, Craig looked great. Holiday also played well…his only mistakes seemed to be the kind that will go away once he gets more comfortable in the system. One of those games where we didn’t really play a lot of defense. We knew we could take it easy and clamp down in the 4th if we had to. I loved Monty going to the bench all 4th and leaving them in even when Orlando cut it to 16. Don’t think anyone played 30 minutes in this one and we have two days off before we play next.
Other things, we set a season high with 40 assists. I wonder if that’s a league wide high. Also, Ayton has always had great touch, but he is becoming automatic anyone within 10 feet of the rim. I know I read he shoots 64% on his hook shot, but it feels lately like it’s been 80%.
Anyways, a nice relaxing win. 46-10 seems crazy. We’ve gone 45-7 since that 1-3 start. This team will pretty easily set the franchise win record I think. I think we end up 65-67 wins.

I sold Ayton short:

I watched the Orlando broadcast. A couple things:
The color analyst asked why Cam Johnson has one of the best three point percentages in the league on the best team in the league and isn’t in the NBA all-star three point contest. Yeah, a lot of us are wondering the same thing.
The other thing is the play-by-play guy had our record confused multiple times. It was so weird. Early in the game he said we were 40 and 15 and then at the end of the game, he said we’re now 41 and 15. The production team must have given him bad stats, I guess. Some kind of weird dyslexia where they took 5 from the win total and added it to our loss total.

As others have mentioned and one of my short list complaints has been Monty pulling the starters.
I think 'Bone' referenced the 16pt lead and didn't it even get to 12 ?? But yea either way they've been a couple times this season where teams shaved some points off a 20+ point lead and Monty was quick to bring back the starters.
I really can't remember a game where we had the bench unit in from 8mins left so that's great.
It's the Magic so not gonna talk too much about the starters doing work against them but just a general observation recently that DA not only converting at a crazy rate but he's catching just about everything also.
Nice stuff from Holiday, I think his turnovers were mainly over passing which is normal occurrence most times a guy looking to fit in.

Watching Robin Lopez “operate” on offense was really comical.

Not much more you can say about the main group. The Magic just couldn't keep up on either end but do have a lot of young talent that plays hard.
The 2nd unit we have now could terrorize opposing benches. Pairing Torrey with JaVale up front is going to be hard on a lot of teams. Both guys bring such energy, defense, length and athleticism - they should complement each other well and be fun to watch. And the swing heavy lineup we can roll out is a perfect mix of offense and defense.
I'm excited about Holiday. He's got the pedigree and really fits the profile of the kind of young player we go after and have had success with. He could be a nice sparkplug off the bench with room to grow as a PG. Elf's play has picked up a bit but the bar's been set pretty low. Hopefully he can maintain until Payne and Shamet get back. Maybe Holiday takes some minutes the more comfortable he gets.
I like Jae's adjustment/improvement putting the ball on the floor and being a threat in the midrange or getting to the basket. Looks like he's been making an effort to be more of an all-around threat for when teams run him off the line. Cam Johnson's been trying some jumpers off the dribble in that midrange area. They haven't really been falling but the shot looks good and he might just need more reps. Good to see those guys working on specific things throughout the year.

I am confused why the Wizards let Holiday go, as their remaining PG depth is Neto and Ish Smith. Isn’t this a perfect time to develop a guy like Holiday?

Get the money. Dolla dolla bills y'all.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
