I hope Payne is back today. He has already missed a third of our season. We need him to be good for us to be great come playoff time.

I threw it in the Suns News thread but Book is in Health and Safety Protocols so he's out tonight.

Any news on where he went during the break?

At first I was saying that he didn't pull up to Cam's Lemonade so maybe he had results since Monday and the team was hush hush as usual until Game Day
Here he is at shoot around y'day so there goes that theory
And has been my confusion since the beginning of this whole thing, what that means now for the others who were with him y'day

ESPN with the scheduling nightmare 🤐🤦🏾‍♂️
No Dame/CJ/Nurkic - CP3/Book

Probability of this scenario when the schedule came out had to be 0.01% smh

Start Shamet, maybe some extra playing time can get him in rhythm

He's vaccinated and has had Covid before; I've heard, anecdotally from those I hang around and been in that situation, that subsequent Covid cases clear up pretty quickly in that sort of scenario? Crossing my fingers!

Ya hopefully this is just a one week thing…of course it happens when our next 3 games are nationally televised

I usually try to watch as much as possible, but I might have to pass on seeing a rusty Cam Payne and way too much Elfrid Payton.

I agree totally
Monty always talks about his growth from first time coaching CP3 and how their relationship is much better and obviously there are positives to his player centric ways. For sure tho, especially Re: minutes, those guys will always say they're fine. I spoke about being concerned with Book's minutes as it seemed he would be avging 40mpg
We've debated on here about Bench player reps are more important than Wins playing the starters heavy minutes. So hey this isn't ideal but I still think it happened at a good time especially with the Warriors not making us have to worry much.

The other part about Monty is our system is PnR heavy
Ayton still gets the majority of his buckets on the move, even his face up jumpers

Will be interested to see if we run standard "big man" sets like simple cross screens to get DA catching the ball on the block and going 1v1
We know that hasn't been his comfort zone but again, it's time to work on our stuff outside of CP3/Book initiating. I think Blazers only Center right now is Drew Eubanks so I mean....
Give big fella and see if he can get to his now potent Go-To Hook shot or the one I sure most of us would like to see which is face up and beat guys with a jab step and so forth.

This is going to be tough. When is the last time we played a game without either CP3 or Book active?

Yep, this will only help the team down the road.

Almost got through the full quarter playing decent stuff but got a little ragged there at the end. Closing quarters is what separates the Great, Good and Bad teams

My question as to if we would put in couple wrinkles to feature DA looking like a No so far. Still guard centric with most things going through Payne and Holiday. Cam P racked up 5 dimes but Aaron still looks to be better suited off the ball and looking to attack than running the offense
