All about the narrative and where you play.Split T wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 9:09 amSame…he clearly has an issue with how he’s viewed and while I don’t think how he responds helps, I do agree with him. He was an incredible basketball player and didn’t always get the credit he deserved. I still think it’s kinda funny he never once made an All- Defense team…Kobe made like 9 straight and Marion, a vastly superior defender, made zero his entire career.

To an extent. But Pippen was not better than Jordan as he claimed recently.
And Marion was hurt by playing in a golden era of power forwards (KG, Webber, Dirk, etc). He was great, but more of an all time great role player than a superstar himself.

I love that it pisses him off that he was never able to win us a ring.

The individual accolades are cool and tbh significant, especially All NBA stuff gets dude his bonuses but man winning is just all we need to do for the real validation

Yeah nobody thinks Pippen was better than Jordan. He might have been a better teammate (probably not debatable) but that is about it.
Interesting that you list Webber in that list of great power forwards. He does have some better averages than Marion, but I would absolutely take Shawn Marion's career over his. More points, rebounds, steals, blocks. And a ring.

Sure wish Dario could have been part of this season.

At their peaks, Webber was a better player. He was the “Nash” of those great Kings teams, while Marion was more of the “Peja/Vlade/Bibby.” Injuries did Webber in but he was basically as talented as any of those PFs in his era. And Webber might have a ring (as the best player on a team) if not for the atrocities committed against the Kings by the referees in 2002 against the Lakers.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:24 pmYeah nobody thinks Pippen was better than Jordan. I think the thing with Pippen is that he never considered a star until the Bulls started winning championships. He was a late bloomer and might have had an inferiority complex because of that. Then you put him alongside probably the greatest player in history, and certainly the biggest star, and that probably exacerbated it. Pippen was probably the perfect 2nd banana - a great defender who had a strong all-around game, and he played well during Jordan's first retirement, but his ego always needed stroking. The difference between him and Jordan was that Jordan fed his ego by winning and dominating, Pippen needed to be told he was great.

Crazy to me he’s still getting this high on these lists…Only LeBron, Kobe, and KD got to 11,000 younger
Saw it written somewhere, but he was behind TMac, Melo, and Giannis at getting to 10,000, so he’s gaining steam.

And only KD had to play in a year of college like Book.
Re: Suns News: Week 23 (3/21 to 3/27)
Obviously too early to tell, but there’s a world where Booker is a top 10 scorer all time. He’s headed for 25K+ with a shot at 30K
Re: Suns News: Week 23 (3/21 to 3/27)
He's definitely going into the top 100 of all time in the next 25 years.

Let's make sure he scores every single one of those points in a Phoenix Suns uniform. Do it all for one team, just like his idol, Kobe.

As we're already on Book
This is such an accurate tweet, we have talked about this over n over but yes the talking heads so felt this to be the defining moment of yung fella's career
And eversince the empty stats not a winning player statements, they've been still doubling down trying to stick with the narrative and sound more n more silly
It's such a weird thing
