So everybody else can trade garbage to get a value player except we can’t
Instead we're gonna trade a very valuable player for garbage.
We are? Is that you, Bizarro World-FLEX?

Yes, we are. Just wait and see. I've been predicting it since last summer. At best it will be rotation-level garbage.

Rotation level and garbage are 2 different things.

Depends on which team it is. A garbage player on our team my be a rotation player on another team.

Too bad, would've liked to see him in Charlotte with that roster but he probably knows the GS situation is a special one. There will be other jobs.

When compared to a future All-Star, it will be garbage.

Payne, Craig, Mcgee and Shamet were all rotation garbage

Not NBA, but I think this is pretty cool and I've always liked the Gasol brothers when they weren't playing for the Lakers, of course.

I wish the league allowed player-coaches or even player-owners. It would be a horrible idea, but the sheer comedy of it would be worth the price of admission. Watching Lebron coach himself next year and then try to coach his own son after that would be an 11/10 for comedic value.

So..does this make our chances for KD better?

I assume that KD would want to be on a team that has a good chance to compete. Not sure what Brooklyn looks like if they don't have Kyrie for next year. They don't have many players under contract, and just a 3 guys already make 100M (KD, Simmons, Harris).

Short version: Yes.

Longer version: It depends on what Brooklyn is able to do to replace Kyrie, but S&Ts usually favor the signing team. Same way the Suns are screwed with Ayton. Unless Brooklyn gets very creative / lucky, they're taking a step back, and they lost in the 2nd round. KD probably isn't going to want to stick around. Anything that makes KD want to leave increases the odds he ends up here. The Suns have a bunch of expirings they can throw at a rebuilding team, or ways to make a pile of assets that Brooklyn might be interested in. But, it would take Crowder, Payne, Shamet, Saric, Craig, and maybe Cam Johnson (though the Suns are loathe to let him go). It also depends on whether or not KD really wants to play in Phoenix. If he does, he's a superstar and they tend to have a lot of leverage. If he's "meh" about it, then it's a lot less likely.

The Nets are not going to take our garbage for KD..I don’t think there’s really any way we keep Bridges in a KD trade. I’d expect Ayton or whoever we get for Ayton plus picks also going to Brooklyn.

Also the Lakers will gladly pay Kyrie that…Kyrie/LeBron/AD would be phenomenal when all are on the court. Might not happen much, but if it happens at the right time, watch out.

He was so perfect for us and was sitting right there…I’m not sure I’ll ever get over passing on him.

I’d happily take Miles…wish we could double S&T Ayton and Bridges

that would be ideal. It would be great to have a powerful shot creator that attacks the basket. 36% of his FGAs are at the rim, and he make 73% of them. The only guys we had better than that were McGee and Biyombo, and they both had much higher assisted rates on those shots. Ayton hit a better FG% but took a lot less (147 shots at the rim this season vs 433 for Bridges).

My goodness that is a revealing stat…Ayton is incredible at the non rim paint shots, but Bridges getting 3X as many rim shots is pretty crazy.

Problem is it hard caps us and then it gets tricky to build out the rest of the roster.
