I see 10 and 26 in that picture too. So I think you have 52.
I didn't count the 10 or 26 because they were not Suns players; they were a Mav and a ref.

That was a test and Indy failed! OF COURSE non-Suns players don't count.

That is not how the game worked for the ten years or so we played it. It is the off-season counting thread--all numbers count!

Hey, your thread, your rules. However, I'm confused on the tradition. I thought it used to be a count down until the season started.

No it was a count up to see how high we could get before the season started.

Indy is right. The original version was an upward count. My criticism of the tradition was that it just kind of shot up quickly to really high numbers within 1-2 days and didn't take its time. So I had the idea 1-2 years ago to change it to a countdown of days until the season. That way each day is focused on one number, and several people can all post it rather than somebody "grabbing" the number first. Also it builds hype for the coming season.

Anyway, the two ideas are not mutually exclusive. We can do both!

That's right. I liked that format much better. Rather than one person blowing through 10 in a day, everybody has a shot at being creative on each day and maybe bring up players that others didn't think about. Or at least different pictures of the same player. Much better pace.

They both serve good purposes. The counting-up one has a lot of history and is fun to rip through a bunch of great all-time Suns. Also, it's hard to start a count-down thread because there's too many days until the season starts. You have to find a way to make, like, 79 and it's not easy. But I do support doing both of them because they're both fun!

Yeah, JJ Slim sent me a PM about it and asked me to start one. I was trying to bridge the gap between June and October because the count-down threads aren't usually very long.
