I’m curious to see the results of this one.

I think he'll be an All-Star in his career. But with so much uncertainty about next season, not even knowing where he will end up or who he'll play with, I voted No thinking it's the most likely outcome.

La ti da, an all-star appearance.

I, myself, would hold him to MUCH more than being an all-star; especially with the scarcity of productive big men.

I like him, but with Jokic, Gobert and Towns ahead of him in the West, I don't see him as having a great chance.

In the East with Embiid, Adebayo and Allen it's a little more likely.

Absolutely. In fact I think the NBA does something extraordinarily unprecedented and passes a motion to retroactively make him all-star for his previous 4 seasons as well.

When it’s all said and done his career his résumé will be legendary. I don’t think it’s out of the question for achievements to look something like this:

17x All-Star
20x 1st team All-NBA
7x 2nd team All-NBA
-2x 3rd team All-NBA
3x NBA MVP
2x Walter Peyton awards
1x 1st team defensive team
6x Eisner award winner
2x Celebrity chopped all-star champion
4x WNBA MVP
6x Shabazz’s award for most delicious juicy man tits

So he's going to leave a team with Chris Paul for a team that not only has a better record in January but also features him as their best player?

Sure.

I’m curious, do you think he’ll be an All-Star before his career is over? Maybe I’ll have to do that as a follow-up poll.

Are you a Suns fan? Maybe there should be a phx-ayton.net site for you. Before we know it, we'll have polls on what we think Ayton will eat for lunch and what time he takes a shit.

We all get it. You love you some Ayton.

I’ll go with yes because I think he’ll put up stats on a trash team and get in, not because I think he’ll be significantly better than last season but because he’ll stand out more.

This season there were zero players on the all-star team from non-playoff/play-in teams.

If he goes to Detroit, they’ll compete for play in me thinks

Maybe, but they were 20 games behind 10th place this season.

Yes I'm not on top of this stuff like most you guys but I have seen that Pistons draft went as good as they can imagine which pumped the brakes on making a splash signing

It sorta makes sense so to be continued

Yeah, it's not like DA is old though. He's 24 next month. He'd fit in fine with the Detroit timeline.

I think it is more about contract timing/age than player age. If you won't be competing for a ring or even home-court advantage in the 1st round, do you want to lock in a player for 131M/4 years or 177M/5 with a S&T?

JJ scared off Detroit. I think they wanted him. But it’s absolutely smarter for them to add vets to their youth.
Who’s offering the max at this point?

I think you all are forgetting about all the "Ayton for All-Star" talk this year, until he got injured. Then it switched to Bridges instead, who almost got in as an injury replacement.
