If you call yourself the leader of a team, you don't completely trash all of your teammates (by name!) and say that you can't win any games with them. You can be "right" and still be an asshole. Just horrid leadership.
He said his teammates aren't any good and he's the only one worth a shit.
I know that’s how people are interpreting it, but not how I see it. Truth is, how many teams would start one of those 4 players right now? Sumner, Harris, O’Neale, Claxton. Maybe Claxton or O’Neale start for a few teams, but those are clear bench players. He’s not saying they shouldn’t be in the nba or something. But they clearly aren’t guys that teams are worried about. They are role players. He’s saying what everyone said about those LeBron Cavs teams. Ya I guess it’s different when the player himself says it, but we all know that lineup is garbage without KD. I wouldn’t say it, but I’m not going to criticize him for saying something I agree with.

Didn't Kobe basically do that, though?

Maybe he doesn’t want to lead them. Maybe this is an FU to Brooklyn

Maybe so, but I don't see the relevance. I don't defend or condone Kobe doing that, either.

Yeah, I'm not saying it was a good thing, but he did get the front office's attention and was still able to lead his team to championships after that.
