Agreed, I still maintain they are just posturing for the best deal and know Booker is untouchable…he’s most likely the biggest reason we are KD’s top choice.
But if KD is as great as you're claiming, then why should Booker be untouchable?
Well on paper he’s not, but it comes down to KD’s wants. KD likely doesn’t want the suns if Booker isn’t here. It’s like the KG-Marion stuff…KG wanted to play with Amare and didn’t want the trade if Amare was part of it, that’s why it had to be Marion.
Yeah, nobody on the team is untouchable. I would trade anyone to get better. But there is no reason KD wants to come here if he doesn't get to play with Book and CP3 and be coached by Monty. That is all part of it.

Why are you playing this game? Booker is better than Ayton. Outside of Booker, you trade anyone else to get KD. KD is great but has about a 2-year championship window. Booker is a staple of this organization and a draw for other players LIKE KD. KD wants to come here BECAUSE of Booker. It's not that hard to figure out.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

That makes sense. I just meant from our perspective. And I do think that Booker for KD would be an upgrade for at least 1 year if KD stayed healthy.

If James Jones is able to land this KD trade plane, can we give the guy a little slack?

For as much as we all like to armchair GM, he might just be good at his job.

Looks like I'm not in much of a minority.

EDIT: It's now 60/40.

Yeah he is. You don't get a two top 50 players and a top 100 player for a top 15 player. And Book creates more shots for his teammates than all 3 combined. If you want to try and use that logic, 8 bench players are better than KD.

Yeah, usually fans over value their team's players.

I voted no.

I would trade 2/3 of Mikal, Cam J and DA with 2-3 first rounders.

We have to field a team still. And I would love to hang on to at least one young player with potential beyond 1-2 years.

This makes it near impossible for a heat deal, right?
I think so. I don't think Tyler Herro plus picks will be enough for Brooklyn.

Does anyone know exactly how many picks we can trade?

You can trade picks out to 7 years, correct? So 2023, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29. You can’t trade picks in consecutive years though, so does that take 2023 out because we traded 2022? Or does that not matter after the 2022 draft happens? Because we can only trade 3 picks if we can’t trade 2023.

I probably go two of Johnson, Ayton and Bridges and picks, but not all three.

I'd offer Ayton, Crowder, Johnson and as many picks and filler as it would take.

I wonder why Brooklyn apparently doesn't want Ayton.

Could it be another team doesn't want to pay him what his agent has convinced him he's worth?

I thought the Jake Fischer guy was usually sharp on trade stuff but I keep seeing him quoted as a source with Book or Bam in the proposed Nets deal.
He seems to be all over the place with deals which others have said can't work

I have to be responsible and nap before work
Who knows what I gonna wake up to 🤦🏾‍♂️

I wouldn't get too caught up on the Designated Rookie Extension stuff.

The Nets can still trade Kyrie before KD, which would likely clear a path for them to acquire a guy like Adebayo.
