Prospective Suns Owners

Post by The Bobster »

I thought there should be a thread listing the individuals who are considered likely candidates to be interested in bidding on the team -

Jeff Bezos, 58, Seattle - Amazon/President & CEO - $148.1 billion net worth
Larry Ellison, 78, Hawaii - Oracle Corporation/CEO - $97.3 billion net worth
Phil Knight, 84, Portland - Nike/Chairman emeritus - $41.9 billion net worth
MacKenzie Scott, 52, Seattle - MacKenzie Scott Foundation/philanthropist - $36.8 billion net worth
Laurene Powell-Jobs, 58, Malibu - Emerson Collective/Chair - $12.6 billion net worth
Jahm Najafi, 59, Phoenix - Najafi Companies/CEO - $3.5 billion net worth
Bob Iger, 71, Los Angeles - Disney/former CEO - $690 million net worth

I think you need to include Jahm (and I think he is around 3.5B).

And Nike's Phil Knight (42B) has been trying to buy a team for a while, but probably only interested in Portland...

MacKinzie Scott is worth 37B and she is rumored to be looking for a team.

Just don't let it be Mr. Rebate (Garvin).

Fan-based crowdsourced ownership sounds good to me!

I would guess that Knight is more interested in buying the Blazers when the Paul Allen Trust gets around to selling it.

Jahm didn't sound like he was interested in being more than a minority owner, but time will tell on that one.

You mean billion, right?

A lot of prospective owners are based outside Phoenix. But I am less afraid of ones who hail from areas that are already saturated with NBA teams, such as the Bay Area in California. You'd worry if Bezos bought the team, because maybe he'd want to bring them to his home of Seattle.

How would Klutch be worse? I’d take them over Sarver for sure.

Klutch gets what they want done. Might not be fans because of Paul but I can guarantee people will want to play for them in Phoenix.

I assume they would no longer be able to represent players?

Can you imagine Robert having to sell to Klutch, due in part to his "fire Klutch" ultimatum?

I will learn it. Is it from the Suns pregame ritual? Each is unique.
