Phoenix Suns Training Camp 2022

Post by Superbone »

Here's a place to post pictures, videos, articles, and talk about everything we learn about this year's training camp. What we do know is that Jae Crowder has whined his way off the team. I thought he was a pro's pro but I was mistaken. I look forward to hearing how Ayton performs in camp. How and if the new guys fit in to any regular rotation minutes. See what new wrinkles we're adding to our offense and defense this year. It will be interesting to see how we come out of the gate this season.

Anybody?

I would normally go, but I am headed out of town this weekend.

That reminds me, if anyone is looking for preseason tickets to the Aussie game, let me know. Sec 117, row 17, two seats on the aisle. You'll probably get a chance to see Landale try and show something.

Ummm. I said I wasn’t going to over-react. But shit is not right. This is too early into a season to start out with this bullshit. Where are the adults?

This is the earlier part of that same conversations. You get to see the fun side of him before he hears Monty's name. Uh oh.

You could tell there was a problem yesterday before he even spoke. Monty, Paul and Book all came from the right side of the room and all left that way. DA came from the left and left that way. They were actively avoiding each other. Even their Sarver answers were different. Monty, Paul and Book all basically said the same thing, but in their own way. DA's was different, like he wasn't part of the huddle before the play.

Where’s Monty managing his relationship with his max player ahead of this media day? Because this is Ayton now taking shots at Monty over the whole situation by showing his ass. Yes Ayton is a young man. But who are the adults addressing the elephants in the room? JJ the relationship gm, what say you?
Ugh.

About the "disagreement" between him and Monty:
"I just haven't spoke to the man. 'Disagreement,' I don't know anything about it, I just know I haven't spoken to him. At all."

It sounds to me like he feels it's on Monty to come to him and talk to him.

Not sure there's anyway to spin this other than he's here until he isn't. Hopefully everyone can keep it together and focused on basketball without any kind of implosion.

It's pathetic and embarrassing.

Now do y'all see why I kept saying that Monty "hates" DA?

Yo wtf. How is it even possible? Not even yesterday even?

So all that talk from Monty of how much work Ayton has been putting in is bullshit???

It's as if James and Monty were completely oblivious to the fact that the relationship needed any smoothing over at all!

Monty talked about what Ayton has been doing in pickup games, and I think I heard that Monty and the staff were around. But they didn't speak??

I don’t see how “hating” Ayton comes into it. Monty should be more sophisticated than some old school coach who can’t understand how to manage certain personalities. IDK. Whatever the fuck he is doing isnt working rn. I may not like it but it could be some stoic withdrawal of relationship to reinforce Ayton to come to him. But that sort of move doesn’t work on personalities, especially reactive personalities.

Maybe we should just do a 1 year tank, get a high pick, trade CP3 and Ayton and build around Booker/Bridges /CamJ and whatever we get in the draft/trades

Monty yesterday: "Those are things that I've watched him work on this summer. [...] We certainly have talked about it a ton this summer."

But not WITH him?

Booker isn’t going for that. It’s compete or not at all at this point. If it all goes to pot, I hope we can send DA for SGA.
