Why are you guys talking about "removal" They don't remove the entire meniscus. They just cut out the tear.

True, it still removes part of the meniscus though

I hope CamJ had the meniscus repaired rather than removed. Seems like guys who have it removed end up grinding down their knees within a few years. He should look out for his long-term future and career, even if that makes him take longer to come back. I do feel for the guy that this is happening in a contract year when his team didn't agree on an extension with him and he wanted to really prove himself. Hope he gets a chance to come back later this season and show his stuff so he can still get a good deal.
I’d be curious to see the data on this. I feel like Brandon Roy is the common reference, but that’s not completely fair as his knees were shot before the meniscus injury.

That Danny Marang / Eddie Johnson twitter beef makes me cringe. If I were EJ I'd just stay out of it. I love EJ overall but I think it's super lame how he clearly searches for anybody talking smack about him on social media and then goes and gets into it with them. It makes him look petty and thin-skinned. Who cares what Danny Marang says about you? Who even cares about that guy?

Bledsoe had the short version done, right? He had 2 good years post surgery and then has been downhill ever since.
Go Suns!

Yeah, I hope he doesn't try to do the quick route. If only Sarver were still in charge, I'm sure he would have the staff advising him to take the longer recovery.

I thought he did the repair…he was out a long time if all he did was the removal

I had a meniscus tear snipped out in December. Still took me a good 2-3 months to feel back to normal. Probably less for an elite athlete instead of an old out-of-shape guy.

Yeah, I had that same procedure probably 5 years ago. Obviously I'm not a professional athlete but I've felt as good as new ever since my recovery. I really think it depends on the tear. I don't think it's always best to do the longer recovery time repair. But I'm also not an Orthopedic surgeon so I don't know for sure.
