I know it’s somewhat controversial here to say Shamet isn’t the worst basketball player in the world.

I just don’t see how TJ, in his current form, fits into what the Suns do on either side of the ball.

Shamet offers a decent ball handler and active effort on defense.

Quick question folks.

Would you play TJ over Shamet ?
I'd put TJ in for one game as a courtesy, then swap him out for Shamet when he shatters both kneecaps like glass.

Well it doesn’t seem either have a spot in the rotation right now. Seems like it’s Paul/Booker/Okogie/KD/Ayton and then Payne and Craig probably have bench spots locked up. Lee, Ross, Shamet, Ish, and TJ are probably fighting over 2 spots. Landale/Biyombo have a spot locked up now, but I’m not sure they play in the playoffs.

SI: How risky is this deal?

Ishbia: I think there is no risk. I don't look at it as a risk at all. I look at it as a vision and a decision. And you go with your decisions and you run with it. It doesn't mean everything's going to work out or that we’re going to win multiple championships and you know it was right. You have to play the games.

However I don't look at it like a risk at all. I know what the vision is. I'm going to own this team for 50 years, so like zero [risk]. I don't need to come in and win in the first year. But at the same time, there's nothing in my life that I don't want to win at. We're going to try to win everything we do. And so I don't look at it as risk at all. Everyone can say what they want to say. If something happened and we didn't win, it was still the right thing. You make the decision with the best available information you have at the time, you make the decision and then you run with it and you try to make it work.

In anticipation of KD: A look back at the Suns’ big midseason debuts

DA could be the key according to the first audio clip near the end. I wonder if he understands how he could impact this thing?

Prediction (that I have very little confidence in): In the next 5 games, Book will have one where he makes more than 6 threes.

I get taking the Suns angle, but the trade I think about the most that is comparable is Houston's midseason acquisition of Clyde Drexler. I think that's the one the Suns would hope to mirror.

Seeing as none of the Suns' acquisitions ended in a championship thus far, it would make sense to look externally. Although I don't think Drexler was near the player that KD is.

Tim Legler on Sports Center tonight:
If you went into a lab and wanted to construct a starting five, this is what it’s going to look like. This is as good as it gets in terms of five guys that fit everything you need out of a starting unit.

Legler gets 30 seconds on Sportscenter but they'll put Perkins on for 30 minutes every morning. ESPN is the worst.

That was not flattering. Was it written by someone on the East coast? The last bit about Durant being handcuffed to this mess is stilly. Our team is pretty solid. Maybe not a super team but solid like Milwaukee. We will win a lot of games with KD.
Go Suns!

I have never seen someone with as many bad takes as Vincent Goodwill. Even Stephen A. Smith gets it right once in a while.

The stuff KD said about being a leader...I think it might have been Wilbon on PTI pointing out, and not in a bad way, that KD's never really been a leader on any of his teams. Not in OKC, not in GS with Curry/Klay/Dray and not in BK while Kyrie was being an ass. Fortunately he won't have that responsibility here with Book and CP on the floor.
