Place: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, NC

IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING PEOPLE! Kevin Durant is set to make his Phoenix Suns debut Wednesday evening against the Charlotte Hornets. I'm guessing he'll be on a minutes restriction just like everybody else who has returned recently. I have to imagine that he's starting though. No matter what, it will be exciting to see him in a Suns uniform.

This will be Deandre Ayton's coming out party.

Phoenix have a tradition on bringing elite Point Guards, and integrate them into the team, that usually unlocks and marks a new way to play as a TEAM (Kidd, Nash, Paul) but having Durant on board looks nothing like this, it’s a lot more similar to unleashing a force of nature into the court, like Barkley was on the old days, (hopefully we got to see us going further, all the way actually).

Moving ALL of our players one notch down on the pecking/burden burden, will be something to see. Booker no longer in charge to carry the offense through adversity, Paul no longer having to overstretch himself in the clutch, Ayton getting to be their 3rd best Max player. Even before Paul started to decline, the team best chance to contend was to DA becoming our 2nd best player replacing Paul, but now he can stay on 3rd and now the Suns can even afford to let Paul be the 4th.

We have been already looking how they have lowered their usage, giving Booker more on the ball responsability, but also Okogie, Craig and Lee, wich make me think they did it to have Paul acclimated early to be off the ball with KD and Booker handling the offense. Paul has been erratic with his shot lately, but not the way he was while getting his legs backs, but because he is trying to play as a secondary option, at least that’s what I hope it’s the case.

I don’t want to be cautiously optimistic, neither wait for the sky to fall, I want to dive full-in into the KD mania waiting for the best.

I hope that KD stays healthy.
I hope that Booker turns lethal with his new found space.
I hope CP3 breaks his playoffs bad luck health wise.
I hope Ayton finally gets dragged into the psycho mentality.
I hope the Pacific is as blue as Red’s dreams
I HOPE.

We've seen this team play up to occasions in the past couple of months. Seems like integrating KD would qualify as an occasion. There's a very high chance this is a rout pretty early which means there won't be much future projection to take away from the result.

OTOH, my intuition about pending Suns games has been way off recently.

Is Bazley ever going to see a minute in a Suns uniform? Or only in a blowout? Maybe this game.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's got some sort of ailment that the Suns just aren't making public at this point. Seems silly that he hasn't at least gotten some time. But I'm also surprised TJ hasn't gotten a bit more of an opportunity.

Pretty sure he just isn't any good, but I'm just being sensible.

It seems pretty clear the Saric for Bazley trade was 100% about money. I’m not sure we have any interest in playing/developing Bazley. Maybe be can impress in practice but seems unlikely.

Wouldn't they have just waived him if it was only about the money?

Bingo. He was never going to get any time here, especially at the most crowded position. I wish they could've just kept Saric
