Me when I read about the Durant ankle sprain before the game:

"Too little, too late, too unbothered."
- Phoenix Suns 2023-2024 season motto.

"Be Legendary."

Is that arena built on an indigenous sacred site or something?

I think we've seen enough in 3 games to know the fit won't be an issue. Of course it's better to have him play, but I think the Suns can win without him right now. Also, getting a win against the Kings or Warriors without KD is kind of a mental mind fuck.

Suns forward Kevin Durant could miss the rest of the regular season with ankle sprain

https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/ ... 988033007/
The Arizona Republic has learned that there is concern within the organization that Durant has a grade 2 sprain, which would keep him out for between four and six weeks.

Phoenix’s regular season finale is April 9, meaning it’s possible Durant could miss the remainder of the regular season and potentially the start of the playoffs.

On the one hand, FML. On the other, it's Greg Moore, so he's probably back next game.

That's right.

The reality is no one knows anything now because he hasn't had a scan, so there's a good chance Greg Moore is on the clickbait farm right now.

I have no idea who Greg Moore is, safe to assume he’s known to be full of shit?

Having taken a moment to breathe, I think he's reporting the most sensational thing possible.

That said, my optimism that he'd be back relatively soon is significantly diminished.

Yep, I'm now in wait and see mode. At least worst case, he's back for the playoffs.

I’m reading into every sign way too much:

Bad: wasn’t on bench, walking boot, Monty’s cryptic update and talking about the look on Durant’s face

Good: finished his workout, Booker saying NBD

Greg Moore is and has been the Arizona Republic sports and Suns beat writer for quite a while. He's not known for being full of shit. This sucks. I thought my friend was fucking with me when he text me last night saying one of the national guys on their late-night sports radio back east was hearing it was a grade 3 sprain and he'd be out 3 to 6 months. Between Greg Moore and what this friend of mine text me, I'm in a miserable mood this morning. Why the fuck is this franchise cursed?
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Everyone on suicide watch? Can’t believe we might waste one of KD’s final playoff runs because of a slick floor.
Go Suns!

I would advise waiting until we get a more official update. Nobody knows how serious it is until he is properly examined.

He’s a total loser on AZCentral that asks suns players annoying questions and is known for it. They dismiss him with “next question” fairly frequently

Nobody actually knows yet. This is dumb. If you saw Lamelo Balls injury you would have thought nothing happened

If anything, it was the opposite issue. Too much friction. He didn't slip. He just rolled his ankle.

He's still getting paid by the Arizona Republic. It's not like he's writing for TMZ or friends with Flex. He's a reputable beat writer, regardless of if people like him or not.

Kevin Durant (ankle) injured during warmups, misses home Suns debut
Suns fans will have to wait at least 1 more game to welcome their newest star player.

I like the optimism of the sub headline.

I think he's done for the regular season. I'm sure he'd be able to play in like 3-4 weeks but they'll hold him out, "ramp him up" for another 2 weeks and have him ready for the playoffs. Worst case would be missing the 1st round altogether.
