He's been broadcasting Suns games since before I was born.
In the '90s I lived in Tucson and didn't have cable, so I couldn't really watch the Suns games. So I'd listen to the radio feed on KTAR. Al would describe the game so vividly, it was like I was there. He made it so much fun to just sit up in my room listening to this man describe a sport I couldn't even see. Seems wild to think about nowadays with the ubiquity of streams and HD 4K everything. Won't ever forget him.

I’ve got ya beat: I used to listen to KTAR when I was living in San Diego.
