Camara is starting. I believe it's the same starting lineup as last game.

Hale for three to end the 1st quarter. Suns up 27 to 22 on the Grizz. Man, the excitement in here is palpable! Just think, if it's this good now, imagine what it's going to be like for the next month with nothing NBA basketball related going on.

The way Toumami runs reminds me of young Barkley. Anyone else see that?

Hmm. I hadn't considered that. Sam Mitchell was really impressed with him in this ball game. He ended up the leading scorer for us in this one with 20 points along with 10 boards and 2 blocks. Suns blew it open in the 4th for a 102-79 win to end the Vegas Summer League with a 2-3 record.

My Toumani scouting report:

Pros
Very active - plays with constant energy / always moving
Shooting form looks good
Aggressively crashes the offensive glass
Willing passer
NBA-ready physically
Attacks the basket and seeks out contact
Not afraid to mix it up defensively
Pretty smart cutter, although he moved around so much he’d sometimes clog up the lane with his cuts
Solid at boxing out

Cons
Handle is sooo sloppy
Dribble drive game will struggle against NBA defenders
His aggressiveness can get him in trouble on both sides of the ball
Even though the shooting form looks good, the results weren’t there
Had some trouble finishing the basket and didn’t use the glass when he could/should have
A few bouts of poor decision making, likely because of the role he was asked to play, which won’t be the case in the real games
Not the best timing on defensive rebounds

Overall I was pretty encouraged, especially considering where he was drafted. I don’t think he’ll see all that many consequential minutes, but I think if you threw him out there for some spot time with the big 3 he wouldn’t look out of place and could do well in his role. He looks like an NBA player.

Am I the only one who thought Quinton Crawford did a poor job coaching this team?

I felt like he stayed with Olinde too long. Olinde just kept making bad plays on the defensive end. In the Jazz game, the team was making a come back and then Crawford subs in Olinde to make the inbound pass out of a timeout, and he throws it away.

And I why did Hale and Hermann rack up DNPs?!

Regardless, this last game was a good showing. I wouldn't mind seeing Hale, Usher, and Hermann get camp invites and then play for our G-League team.

Usher was consistently active, playing with good energy and athleticism, and it finally paid off in the last game.

I think Camara at times struggled with his interior defense, but I also didn't like Crawford playing him at the 5.

Oh, the Usher Raymond stuff the announcing crew was trying to work in was brutal.
