The whole thing is pretty sad though.
It’s the hope that kills you but even the big 3 haven’t been what we’d hoped, never mind the supporting cast.
Their talk of ‘it’s all for the playoffs’ will be interesting as it plays out.
Always hoping for a championship, expecting an earlier than wanted exit.

Well, we made it to 35 with six games to go. Not too bad after that horrible start. If we don’t rest anybody for our final 6 we could get to half our games. And better to have missed them at the beginning than at the end.

Thanks. Updated. I don't know. I wasn't thinking of the play-in games when I made the poll but what do you guys think? Those are kind of bonus games. Like limbo. After the regular season and before the playoffs. Do they count as "regular season"?

I think regular season means regular season. Doesn’t include the play-ins and doesn’t include the IST final, because they are officially not regular season games.

After the way we started, half the games isn't too bad. Better that they were played at the end of the season rather than the beginning.

And you're right, Cap. That's why I had 41 as the cut off for that group since it was half of the regular season and if they got to 42 or more, they would have played over half the games.

Kinda funny we hit right at 41…pretty good for how the season started.

Still, it is kind of sad that stats from the play-in games go down the memory hole, despite the importance of the games. They are not included in either regular season or playoff stats. You could score 101 in a play-in game and not set any official records.

Yep…is the IST championship treated the same? They need to just track non playoff tournament stats and count IST and play-in games together.

They are “postseason” games but not playoffs. If you look at the official standings right now, we have clinched the postseason but not the playoffs: https://www.nba.com/standings

Now I'm just hoping my other prediction that we'd sandbag the season to just throttle everyone in the playoffs comes true
