Weird flagrant call. I thought Duren made an honest contest and just landed under Durant a bit.
Really tough break for him to get ejected for those two flagrant fouls.

The foot was never an actual injury…it’s the same one as the ankle, they just got clarification on what was actually hurt when they got the MRI.

It’s possible he hurt the calf compensating for the ankle, but it’s also just as likely they were unrelated. He didn’t seem to be having any issues on the ankle in the game to me.
Sure, but it started with a jammed toe from practice and became something else.

And didn’t seem limited, but it’s hard to know. The odds of having a brand new injury unrelated to the ankle Vogel even said was irritated for yesterdays game seems less likely.
I don’t think the toe turned into an ankle injury. You can watch when he hurt the ankle in the GS game.
Probably because he didn't want to land hard on the toe.
It was on a drive to the hoop, not landing.

It’s funny you guys wanted him to sit out with a stubbed toe
I meant landing on the left foot on his drive into the paint:

Nice job of outrebounding a younger, physical team.

On a side note, James Wiseman ... MIA ...

I think Eric Gordon has emerged as our 4th best player. Do you agree / disagree? If it weren't him, you could make the case for Okogie, Allen, maybe Nurkic. But EG has been more consistent than those guys, IMO. His scoring and ability to generate offense has been really helpful.
Ya I think he and Allen are 4 and 5…it is unfortunate we probably can’t play our best 5 together unless we want to go real small.

Detroit is thin at guard, so it is not a big surprise Gordon and Allen looked great today.

Not weird at all. He got under Durant and Durant landed on his foot and twisted it. It was a letter of the law flagrant. This is the rule made due to one of your favorite Golden State Warriors a few years ago.

KD with a nice pull-up jumper to end the 3rd. He has 35 points so far; what a legend.
He set a record in Detroit today as the only player to score 40+ for four consecutive games in a row there.

I was going to go to the game today but we have a big cutover today and I'm oncall starting in an hour. So I get to watch on TV instead. LP is blacked out so I get to listen on Bally. I hate the Detroit play caller. His voice is so annoying and I'm stuck between wanting to scream or getting put to sleep.
Yeah, that guy is no fun.
I’m watching the Piston’s broadcast a little. The play by play guy’s name is, I kid you not, something like George Blabla. Reminds me of Arrested Development lawyer Bob Loblaw. And he’s as exciting as his name sounds.

Believe it or not, it turns out he's been their play-by-play voice since 1976! He could break Al's record in a few years, if you count both radio and TV combined.

Yep, if he gets a reliable 3pt shot he’s going to be a problem. He’s already very good defensively (not easy for a first year player) and he has a nice little short jumper when he can get into the paint.

Detroit has a nice young core. It really all depends on if Cade can pop and become an all-star type leader for them. Duren is what we imagined Ayton to be and Ausar looks promising.

And what’s the deal with Jalen Rose standing on the sideline all game long and acting like a coach? I’d be pissed if I had a seat behind him.
Oh, so that WAS Jalen Rose. I was at the game behind the Suns bench and saw him constantly getting up and moving around. I thought it was him but wasn't sure. It was like he thought it was all about him. Weird.

I'm glad to see EG playing so well, though. I was worried age would catch up to him this season. Sure he has slowed down, but he can still get around his defender.

I'm worried these heavy minutes/usage early on will take its toll on EG. We talk about KD, but EG is a real luxury and I'd hate to see him fade because we're relying on him so much now. We'd be smart to pull back on him if/when we're full strength. Allen I'm obviously less worried about, but we can't afford to lose EG down the stretch.
