I wouldn't go that far. OKC is better than mediocre.

The Bulls are mediocre or worse and we barely hung on to beat them. The real issue is it seems we'll need everyone healthy to beat the good teams, and that's just not a feasible strategy.

FTFY.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Just frustratingly bad. It’s too easy to just say we need get Book back. No shit, but it shouldn’t be this bad, it’s been zero improvement, we’re going backwards. Just making two baskets in the 4th is disgusting, we can’t make 3 or 4 baskets at least?

It’s a whole new team, players playing new roles, Beal is just finally getting back, it’s still early. I get it, hopefully we can start moving towards more positive direction in these next 5 games.

TWolves and GSW are gonna being tough games, hopefully we can at least split those but we need to win the Blazers game and the 2 games against Utah. Those should be wins with or without Book.

Missed the game tonight…but remember a couple years ago when we went undefeated with a lead entering the 4th Q? At least 4 of our losses this year we had a lead in the 4th Q

Suns play every 4th quarter like the team was assembled after the 3rd quarter.

He's got the Phil Jackson walk going, FML.
You could tell it was bothering him last game too.

I miss Booker.
I kinda miss being the greatest clutch team in league history. Wasn’t that long ago.

Of course, that was when we had Ayton.
It wasn't Ayton. It was having a facilitating PG.
It's both. Just wish we could go back to the roster we had in mid-July.

Beal has a lot more Wizards stank on him than I imagined. He looks like Terrance Ross out there.
He's playing hurt. It's not a good situation.

It's so frustrating to have yet another 4Q meltdown! Scoring 2-21 when you have Beal and Durant on the team is insane. For me questions need to be asked of Kevin Young's ability to design an offense to close out games without 1 or more of the big 3 on the court. It just seems as though everything is designed around Booker being the closer and without him we just resort to a gassed Durant playing iso. There has to be more to our playbook than that but we keep repeating the same mistake so it does make you wonder.

Good post. Just shows that throwing a whole new team together with a whole new coaching staff (mostly, Kevin Young excluded) takes time to develop. Speaking of Kevin Young, like many others here, I’m not impressed. Our offense continues to be stagnant and we continue to not play team ball.

And as others have pointed out, it’s also quite frustrating to go from the best clutch team to the worst so quickly. We seem to have the lead going into most 4th quarters and then proceed to crap the bed and play our worst of the game at the worst possible time. The people preaching patience are right. This is going to take some time. Let’s just hope it’s not too late if and when we figure it out. I also hate relying on Booker but he is our #1 option.

If you can't rely on your best player, do you really want him as your best player?

It seems to me the coaches’ message is getting a bit lost at 3/4 time. They’re telling the players to make shots, but instead they’re doing shots and playing drunk in the 4th!! (Makes as much sense as only making two FG in the entire last quarter..)

“He’s a warrior” is maybe a term you used for someone grinding out a tough playoff series with an injury, not game 3 dick.

At this point the whole highest paid assistant in the league tag that young has is going to effectively doom his career. Suns have showed their offense sucks ass without all 3 stars. Who wouldn’t be good with 3 stars?! So that appears to be a minimum requirement for young’s offense , which without it, you have a team that dies in the most important quarter of Bball of a game repeatedly. And young appears unable to fix it. Best to be stashing those pay checks in some long term Deposits. No one is throwing that money your way next year.

I've also been hard on Kevin Young during games, but it's difficult to overstate Booker's impact in this offense because it's easy to forget Okogie is the only guy with experience in it besides Booker.

I'm just disappointed it's looked so bad without Booker despite being early in the season. It has hardly clicked at all in big moments and that's just hard to accept for a team with title aspirations.

I am finding it hard to get very excited over these lackluster strangers in Suns' uniforms.

I’d argue maybe even last February…. Just not a fan of this version of KD we’re getting.
