Oof
It's crazy how unfun this season has been thus far.

I think KD will be fine. I think he’s back on Tuesday against the Warriors. That’s basically a week off for him. If not Tuesday then definitely the next day against the nets, which could also be the return of Beal. 👀

Definitely seems more like an opportunity in the schedule to catch some rest. Hopefully they also use the time to practice and work on gameplan and strategy.

Any question marks being raised about our training staff at this point or They get a free pass because we fall under a Vet team built for a chip this year label?

Not sure how much we can blame the training staff for injury prone players getting injuries. It’s disappointing we are dealing with so much injury stuff this early in the season but it shouldn’t be that surprising.

It’s really just been Beal and Booker. KD has played most the games and Nurkic hasn’t missed any.

Book is healthy now, KD has a minor 1 game injury, and by all accounts Beal is very close. We should be fully healthy week and a half before Christmas

It would be really cool if the Big 3 finally debuted next week. BTW, Shawn Marion's ROH ceremony is a week from Friday.

If people want silver lining. The warriors dealt with bunch of injuries in 2022 when they won their championship. Draymond Green even missed 2 months from a fucked up back injury.

Yup, and they finally got it together at the end of the season going into the playoffs. Peaked at the right time.

Ya I feel the gloom during games, but it doesn’t last because I know these games really don’t matter. I did want to win that dumb in-season tournament though.

I don't consider this season unfun so far. I like almost every new player we acquired. We have a championship-level core with Book, KD, Beal, and Nurk Nowitzki. We don't look all-there yet, but the goal is to peak in around April, not December. And we don't look bad; we just look like we have a bit further to go. But I think we look like a contender, one of a handful of teams that have a real shot at the title. And that's about all you can ask for. I am not upset about losing out of the in-season tournament because I didn't care much about it anyway. I just want to enjoy the season as much as I can.

I do, but it's my own fault. Relative to the expectations I had built up, it's been a pretty bad season, with disappointing losses and injuries predominating. Now, if you take out the two weeks of winning streak, a period of time when I was mostly traveling and not really able to follow the team as much, the rest of the season has been horrendous. Just seems like every time I'm able to put some time into watching, things fall completely apart.

Also, three close losses already to the Lakers. I just can't even express how I feel about that.

The season is now a quarter finished and we still havent had the Beal-Booker-Durant trio together. Not a good sign, because they're going to need all three healthy if thet're going to accomplish anything in the playoffs.

And I would have to echo the sentiment that this team is hard to enjoy so far - in part because Booker is the only one with a history here, and so many of them are new this season. Plus the product on the court has been underwhelming.

I love KD, but if we can't get to title contention, it's going to be asked whether it was worth giving up half a decade's worth of draft picks and a decade's worth of prime Mikal Bridges to get a few years of tail-end-of-his-prime KD.

And I don't think Chris Paul is the answer, either, but it will also be asked whether a diminished CP3 would have been better than an oft-injured Beal.

I know we wouldn't have garnered the same FA signings without KD here. But if we could have nabbed some of them (maybe, Gordon and Eubanks? Plus the Ayton for Nurk/Allen / Little trade), arguably we would be a better, more well-rounded, more durable team:

Starters: CP3 / Book / Mikal / CamJ / Nurk
Bench: Payne / Gordon / Allen / Metu / Eubanks

Something like that. That looks like a pretty nasty team. Oh well.

The answer was Haliburton.
