A little bit of much-needed momentum for the Suns coming into the new year. Beal was really important in the 4th just after the Magic took the lead with two lay-ups and taking a charge - great steadying plays.
We still give up way too many open 3s - need to sharpen that up against teams that shoot the 3 better than Orlando (everyone). Didn’t like all the offensive rebounds they got tonight either.
But a solid win all round and another game to build on.

I just really love what Nurk brings to this team. He’s got a toughness and grit to him that we haven’t had (without saying anything else that belongs in that thread).

By no means do I think he’s a sure fire answer to beating Denver, but I think that because he plays with physicality both offensively and defensively, he can at least force Jokic to expend energy pushing back, and won’t be so fresh to just dominate the game offensively like he did to us last year. I’m intrigued.

That being said watching Banchero do whatever he wanted (Franz too), we have little answer defensively against large 3s and strong 4s. Aaron Gordon, Kawhi, Chet, Lebron, Luka can really feast on our defense.

This team is playing with a lot more juice since the Christmas Day game. I really think Beal's ankle injury deflated the morale more than the outsiders expected.
