2024 NBA Draft

Post by Split T »

Contrary to what many might believe, the suns have a 1st round pick in this upcoming draft. Now I think there’s a good chance we don’t actually make that pick, but we do have it. Have even heard Gambo say they will trade it for multiple 2nd round picks…so we’ll see what happens.

Overall I’ve been hearing this is a weak draft, but that seems to only be true for the top of the draft. Good depth through 1st and 2nd round. That seems to be good news for us.

Feels like every time there's a weak draft some guy from Kentucky goes mid 20's and turns out awesome.

Of course we can't trust Jones to do anything smart with this pick.
Jones and Vogel out, Lue or Lee in, draft Grant Nelson or Tyler Kolek.

Camara was a great value pick. The later the pick the better so we take another 3rd or 4th year player who's more ready to contribute.

James Jones seems good at finding solid guys who can contribute in an NBA rotation, often with shooting and defense (much like he himself displayed as an NBA player). I don't really trust him to make high 1st round picks or find stars. But that's probably fine for where we're likely to be picking for the next few years.

To Jones credit. He has picked Cam Johnson, Jalen Smith and Toumani Camara, all of which turned out to be solid. He did whiff on Haliburton, but he’s been decent. It’s McD who got lucky with Book and basically blew everything else.

He also whiffed (extremely badly) on a certain #1 overall pick for a certain former center.

Oh no! That was a McD and Sarver pick. Jones pick was Mikal.

They need to start accumulating developmental players to balance out the cap assets. There's also a G-League team coming soon, right?

There should be…I was hoping for 24-25 but not sure if we’ll have it by then.

This is why I’d support a Killian Hayes signing. Although, he’s probably looking for more of an opportunity.

Man it's cool to have such a proactive owner.

Sarver was proactive... in lining his pockets and creating a hostile work environment.

Yeah, i think that's why you're hearing chatter about us trading our late first for multiple 2nds. There's also a G-League draft so we won't be totally devoid of talent for a G-League team.
Go Suns!

I love the Cream Abdul Jabbar nickname. Him being from Indiana State, he's a Larry Big Bird to me.
