Grayson has been exceptional, and I hope the Suns do everything they can to keep him. But I have this lingering dread that we'll re-sign him and then he'll regress next season. I hope he can sustain his current performance.

Sure, agree. Cam Johnson is great and I love him, but this year's version of Grayson Allen is clearly better than Cam.

Do you think his defense is as good as Cam? Cam is not a particularly good ISO defender but he's active and played great team defense. Also his height was key to those defensive line-ups we used to run out. Grayson is only 6' 4".

Cam is pretty one-dimensional. He's a great open jumpshooter, and can drive if he's not guarded, but he can't create a shot on his own and his defense is average at best. Plus he's going to be 28 next month so I don;t see him getting a lot better.

Cam also tops out at 50 games played every season.

In theory he's got more positional versatility than Grayson, but Grayson's defense has been a pleasant surprise too. He really competes on that end.

Here’s a fun fact…Book, KD, Grayson, Beal, EG, and Royce combine to shoot 41% from 3. Everyone else on the team combines to shoot 29.1%. That drops to 28.6% if you take out Eubanks and Roddy who are 4/5 combined.
