2024 NBA General Offseason News
Re: 2024 NBA General Offseason News
I don't get the appeal of that crew but whatever, good for tnt I guess.
Re: 2024 NBA General Offseason News
Do you think there's a better crew out there at the moment? ESPN's is god awful.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.
Re: 2024 NBA General Offseason News
I honestly don't watch any of the pre or post shows anymore, they are awful.

I’ll be honest it took a little while before I began to accept Leander but think he’s come into his own and like him now.
Re: 2024 NBA General Offseason News
Yeah, he's great as a host. I just don't want to hear about "going to the tenth floor" or "elevating and detonating" or "downloading threes" as a play by play guy.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 5:39 pmI’ll be honest it took a little while before I began to accept Leander but think he’s come into his own and like him now.

100%…. His play calling still feels like an announcer that’s trying to start a new, corny catch phrase but they never catch on. I think THAT is his schtick at this point and have learned to accept it. There are far worse out there.

The NBA rejected the TNT deal.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Wha? I’m confused. Just earlier it sounded like they had accepted it.

It’s kind of murky…the tnt share of the contract went to NBC…they declined to match that one. Can they match the new all streaming contract Amazon signed? It’s unclear at the moment. They are trying to. I’ve also heard that Amazon put a poison pill in there by agreeing to pay the first 3 years up front…Amazon has the cast to do that…I don’t believe TNT does…we will see what happens.

A good quick rundown on the TNT vs Amazon fight for broadcast rights.

I thought all these guys were great additions 12 months ago, and now they are all out of the league.

Metu was a pretty good scorer. But his defense was not great and he was kind of a black hole who didn't have great court awareness.

The NBA’s TV contract bidding war is getting juicy
Warner Bros. Discovery is currently spending around $1.2 billion a year for NBA games on TNT. With its new contract, the league wants to move on.
