2024 NBA Free Agency

Post by Split T »

Figured we should have a thread dedicated to free agency. What’s everyone’s predictions? I don’t think we’ll see super fast announcements like last year where we signed 4 guys in the first hour…I see maybe 1 announcement tomorrow for us…2 if we are counting Royce.

So who would that one be?

Curious about Wiseman.

Probably a PG…I’m hoping it’s Dunn, but we’ll see.

Hoping we wait at least 5, maybe even 10, minutes before announcing a signing so we don't get hit with tampering charges.

Bey would be interesting if he gave us a team option on year 2, but doubt he’d do that. He tore his acl and is likely missing the season. That’s a pass for me…we don’t have a lot of roster spots.

Always liked Monte Morris. Aaron Holiday is funny because we've had him previously.

Morris can shoot and takes care of the ball. He is small and often hurt…Holiday is a better shooter than I thought..he’s also very small.

Neither of those guys are really PGs. They are essentially undersized SGs. Morris has never averaged over 5 assists ever. We already know AH’s game. He’s better when he gets more minutes.

I think Dunn is going to command more than a minimum. I don’t really know what other options there are unless we start looking at trading Nurk or Little.

Another thing that’s been bugging me lately is that I want to re-sign Bol Bol but we can’t offer over the minimum again which is stupid, Some team has to offer him more than that after all the games he flashed for us last year.
Go Suns!

Morris is definitely a pg…per 36 he’s 5-6 apg. He’s not a ball dominant pg if that’s what you mean, but per 36 he has a career 5.6/1.1 A/TO…career ast rate of 21.9, usage rate in the mid teens. PG all the way.

I don't think we're looking for pure PGs, just a ballhandler who can take some of the responsibilities off Beal and Book for a few minutes and guard opposing PGs. Wonder if there's a connection with Bud and Aaron Holiday from Jrue being on the Bucks?

Glad we got Royce squared away.

I'm not sure there are any pure PG available, we just need a guy who can reliably bring the ball up with the 2nd unit, Dunn is probably the best fit because of his POA defense, but Morris would probably be the 2nd best fit. I think I read Lonzo is UFA if you want a reclamation project, but I'm not sure he ever plays again.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we re-sign Okogie to 8-10mil deal. Probably why he opted out tbh. Another tradable contract for the deadline, Okogie gets paid. Everyone wins.

I’d guess 5.1 million(the TPMLE)

What do you guys consider a pure PG? There really isn’t many old school traditional pure pg left.

Everyone's favorite TJ McConnell lol, he's like the last one.

I like that deal for Royce. Fair salary and tradable later if needed.

I really want the Suns to get Cam Payne back, plus one more reserve PG like Reggie Jackson or Kris Dunn.

Monte Morris is definitely a pure point guard. Aaron Holiday isn't really a point guard at all.

The Suns need to add two point guards. I'll take any of Killian Hayes, Spencer Dinwiddie, Monte Morris, Kris Dunn, or Jordan McLaughlin.
Free Agency
DeMar Derozan for the minimum!

PG: Jordan McLaughlin, Killian Hayes, Kris Dunn, Spencer Dinwiddie, Monte Morris
C: Mo Bamba, Andre Drummond, James Wiseman, Goga Bitadze, Jay Huff
