Game Day: Lakers (2-8) @ Suns (5-4), Mon 11/16/15

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, NBALP

The Lakers got a rare win last night at home against the Pistons. Unfortunately for them, they have to fly to Phoenix and play again tonight. Kobe played a season high 36 minutes last night. I'll be surprised if he has anything left tonight. That is if he even plays. The Suns are rested up and ready to pounce. The Suns swept the season series last year. Let's keep it going.

Go Suns!!!

No Kobe tonight. Cant say Im surprised. He sat out second game in Phoenix last year.

Kobe HATE HATE HATES the Suns and doesnt want to give us the satisfaction of beating him over and over.

Kobe sucks. They pay him 20+ million so average 15 a game every other night. Eff the Lakers. That's what they get for letting him run the show. I hope we win by 40.

Kobe says his back + knees are bugging him: "I'm not looking forward to waking to the car. Seriously." He won't travel with the team to PHX
Wont even travel with team.

Darn. I honestly think we'd have a better chance of winning if he played. He's actively hurting them out there this year. I still think we should win this one, but there may be a bit of Ewing Theory in this game as the Lakers young guys enjoy a game free from Kobe. Watch for Russell in particular because he'll finally get to hold the ball and run the offense.

Also, for all of our team's flaws, we will have the same record as the OKC Thunder if we win this game. We will also be tied for 6th in the West (4-way tie with OKC, Dallas, Clippers) and ahead of all of the following teams: Jazz, Nuggets, Grizzlies, Rockets, Wolves, Blazers, Kings, Lakers, Pelicans.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to watching Kobe sabotage his own team. We may only have a few more opportunities to witness Kobeball fail against the Suns. :(

It seems like the Warriors are clearly the top team in the West, followed by the Spurs clearly in second; and that after that, the Thunder and Clips are there in some order (I personally put the Clips above OKC, but others may disagree). Then there's a glut of random decent teams in some order, and I think we're in that pile.

If we keep up our current general performance, we might actually *gasp* be a playoff team.

The Grizzlies and Rockets worry me for obvious reasons. Both teams have too much talent to remain mired in mediocrity. I don't see the Lakers, Kings, Nuggets, Wolves, or Blazers posing a threat for playoff positioning. The Jazz are decent, but I think we're a step above them still. And the Pelicans are digging themselves a cavernous hole that I don't see them getting out of. To me, it's looking like...

1. Warriors
2. Spurs
3. Clips
4. Thunder
5. Mavs
6. Grizzlies
7. Rockets
8. Suns
9. Jazz

He doesn't want to get booed on his farewell tour.

Kind of a stinker of a half for everybody except Knight (14p/6a/5r/2s). We limp into halftime with a four-point lead. I hope Coach makes a heck of a locker room speech and we come out and put these jerks away in the 3rd quarter. We shouldn't be letting this team hang around.

Need to pick up the defense if we're going to take this one. Lakers just cored 53 on us in the 1st half.

i'm going to watch the game later and read the thread later. just grabbed a peak at highlights, and i'm really really upset from the highlights that there are loud cheers any time the lakers make a shot, in our own home arena. WTF!!! fucking lakers!
