It probably was 87 actually. I was picturing it in the wrong house. We were still on our 2600 until then.

What is this? Star Wars stories? I hadn't heard about this.

They're going to be doing a series of "Stand Alone" movies that take place in the Star Wars universe, but separate from the main story arc.

Rogue one (I'm pretty sure) is the story of the rebels that stole the plans for the original death star.

Cool! Thanks for the info. Different directors or all driven by Abrams?

Yes, that is the story, Which sounds great. I hope that since it isn't the first, and isn't with Abrams, they won't feel the need to do all the things they had to in TFA. In other words, I am hoping for new stories and new characters.

Not Abrams. Think of it like the MCU, but for Star Wars. I believe they are going to have a new Han Solo movie coming out the year after VIII. So from what I think I know:

2015: VII
2016: Rogue One
2017: VIII
2018: Solo
2019: IX
2020: No idea...

Thanks, Indy. I like the concept. I had to google MCU. For anybody else like me:

Sorry, should have been more clear. I thought everyone knew that if I did, considering I haven't seen a single movie in that universe except GOTG.

Rogue One is directed by Gareth Edwards who directed the underrated "Monsters" and the most recent Godzilla film that was fairly meh despite having Bryan Cranston in it.

Episode VIII is directed by Rian Johnson whom I've loved since his debut film Brick. The Brothers Bloom is a favorite of mine but most know him from the film Looper which had plot holes so big you could drive a truck through them. He is generally thought of as a great storyteller though.

Good info, Carey! I enjoyed Looper in spite of the plot holes.
