Leave Stoudemire and Ayton out of the movies thread until they appear in a Space Jam sequel.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions. Afternoon temperatures 109
to 119 expected.

Once again getting away from the TV topic. Sorry. Most of us in AZ won’t be outside and will be inside watching TV.

Almost done with Morning Show. My wife and I have really enjoyed that. We both expected a comedy and it wast’t. I noticed that appleTV seems to be really trying to address touchy subjects like the #metoo movement in their shows. I thought it was interesting them covering the different angles and complexities of sexual misconduct and what is and isn’t appropriate.

I watched Jon Stewart's movie, Irresistible last night. Enjoyed it. Great commentary on our political landscape right now.

It’s a spinoff Fahrenheit 451.

Watched Ad Astra last night. Thought it was OK, nice visuals but slower paced with some semi-action/suspense scenes thrown in. If you're into sci-fi/space exploration it's worth a watch. Felt a little like Solaris with Gravity and Contact mixed in.

I thought Ad Astra was "meh." Not too bad but not one of my favorites.

I'm starting to watch Bojack Horseman for the first time. I like it! I am a big fan of grown-up animated sitcoms like The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, Rick and Morty, etc. (in their good seasons). Horseman has a similar snappy jokey feel. So far so good.

I just finished season 3 of Dark. I liked it but didn't love it. I thought everything got too complicated and was kind of hard to watch/follow. But I didn't end up with a burning desire to go Google/read about all of it to disentangle the web, either. Dark may be another one of those "season 1" shows for me where the first season was just great and magical and nothing ever quite recaptures that same magic. (Other examples for me: Mr Robot, Dexter, The Magicians)

I am still unpacking and was committed to getting both our cars into the garage before this weekend was over. It was a tough day. My garage opener thermostat was reading 111 inside, so I can't image what it was in the driveway.

I know this is off-topic for TV/movies, but, will southern Arizona become uninhabitable in some years? With global warming marching on year by year, will people really want to put up with, say, 125-degree summer heat?

It is, at least, a problem being taken seriously.

Local scientists are working with the city’s sustainability office to establish a framework for “heat ready” certification, which would evaluate a community’s preparedness for extreme temperatures in the way the National Weather Service’s “storm ready” program sets the standard for responding to bad weather. Mayor Kate Gallego (D), who holds an environmental science degree, wants Phoenix to be a model for the nation.

Like heat and long johns in the mid-west. I wouldn't call regular below zero temps as any less extreme than regular 120 heat.
