Congrats FF! Even without Durant you took it. I tried my best…needed 5 more assists

Ahem... Durant AND Paul George ;) (NGL, I was nervous going into the GSW/MIN game)

I'm temporarily changing my name to Waiver Wire Merchant.

Thanks to everyone who participated. I hope to improve the competitiveness a bit more next season as there were still 2-3 managers who I think didn't keep up with the league enough.

I fell victim to Portland sneak tanking and not playing Simons and Grant, but that’s not quite the same as KD and PG. I didn’t make the best waiver wire decisions either. Dropped Huerter when he got hurt and then he came back and played incredibly.

It seems like I'm (we're) always saying this at some point in the offseason - I want to bring in more committed managers to the league.

Maybe the "free" aspect of it makes it too casual and easy for people to ignore, but I don't really enjoy playing in a 12-team league with only 7-8 active teams. I've recruited Suns fans out of Twitter and Reddit to mixed results and I'm beginning to wonder if I should just try to get people who're more into fantasy basketball than being Suns fans.

Thoughts?

I don’t have any issue going outside the suns fan group to find members. It would be great if we could field a full league from here, but it’s better to have committed league members in any form than a non-committed suns fan.

I'll see what I can do about getting you guys committed...

Wait, so FF runs this thing and then he won? <sounds fishy to me!>

What kind of league is it? What kind of scoring do you use?

12-team, 9-category, head-to-head, daily roster changes on Yahoo.

It used to be the standard for fantasy basketball, but I think the "points" scoring system is a bit more popular now because it's similar to fantasy football and a bit more casual, IMO.

If you guys are looking for more, I'm down. I haven't played fantasy sports in a couple years... The one yahoo fantasy basketball I did was a "rotisserie" and by some fluke I won it (think it was back with the 2007 suns mainly... Marion cleaned house for me).

You're welcome to join.

I think rotisserie was the original format as it followed the most popular scoring format in fantasy baseball, then head-to-head became the most common. Now I think it's probably points. IMO, head-to-head is the best fantasy basketball format and it's what this league has used for as long as I've participated.

I've renewed the league and removed 4 managers from last season. SunsRIt asked to be removed, and the 3 other managers were hardly active at all nor are they members of this board.

I've sent PMs with links to join the league to TOO and Kryptonic. We're at 8 managers right now and would like to get to at least 12.

They have T. Haliburton ranked 5th overall? Wowzer

That's not a subjective ranking. He was the 5th best player by per game average last season.

Edit: Maybe I'm reading that wrong, but those were his numbers. I don't really know if they're projecting him 5th or not. They have Wemby 39th and he obviously didn't play last season...

We're up to 10 with Kryptonic and 3TheHardaway joining. Welcome gents. I'll start looking to add outsiders to get us to at least 12 around the beginning of October if no one the board here decides to join by then.

Opening night is on Oct. 24th, so I'd like to set up a draft date and time sometime within the week prior.

One spot left open with the return of the boner. Although I’d be happy to go to a 14-team league if necessary.

It would be great to add someone from this community of weirdos, and I’m sure we’ll all be following the league a lot more closely given the Suns outlook.
