We all appreciate your extra work UO (Flagrant Fowl )
A place for fans of the Phoenix Suns

There were a lot of guys I just missed on, but I actually think my team has a coherent strategy this year unlike the last few years. I should be highly competitive in 5/9 cats each week and can be decent in the other 4, depending on the opponent. I don't love having Davis as my anchor, but oh, well.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 6:38 pmI know you're all craving for my unsolicited draft analysis, so here you go..
In draft order.
1. Superbone - Hard to screw up with Jokic being your first round pick. A lot of good players, but your lacking rebounds and could struggle with defensive stats. A lot of guys who should play pretty much every night.
2. BigLewy - Nothing stands out as an amazing or terrible pick, so solid all around. Kawhi and LeBron are going to be annoying for you to deal with every night. Would be a lot better if you had this team 3 years ago.
3. Gladiator - Great value for Harden at 27 and very solid picks in pretty much every round. I'd worry about Minnesota not figuring out how to use KAT and Harden being lazy in a month. Either of those happening could really tank your chances.
4. bajanguy008 - Great team, you always draft well. Solid picks in every round. Bane might not return full season value at #21, but at least he'll be really high until Ja Morant returns and takes some of his usage.
5. bIGDRAWLS0072 - Another good drafter. You went for blocks early with JJJ and Wemby but then didn't really try to secure the category. Those picks were fine, I'm just not sure their value will be maximized in your team.
6. Kryptonic - My initial reaction was that you started out solid, but I have some questions about Mikal and Ingram that early. I think you'll need Mikal to repeat his performance last year and I'm not sure he's getting the same kind of usage this year. I really dislike Ja Morant at 67 and Westbrook at 102. I think you'll be really lucky if they return good value at those spots.
7. MTGTM (not a member here AFAIK) - Pretty sure it was a full auto-draft so no comment from me.
8. SplitT - Steady offensive stats but not much there on the defensive side. I think Banchero will be the make or break player for you. There's a chance he's pushing for a triple double every night.
9. Shabazz - Solid first half of the draft even though I have questions about Siakam. A lot of his value came from high minutes and usage and I'm not sure that'll happen this season. I like Jabari Smith and Mark Williams but maybe a bit too early. You probably wouldn't have gotten them if you waited though, so I can understand the selections. You lost me after round 8 though.
10. 3TheHardaway - I know you had some auto-draft picks in there, so I'm not totally sure what to make of it. Ball and Kyrie will be a disaster if you somehow make it to the championship round as they both only play 2 games that week. That's putting the cart way ahead of the horse. Pretty solid team besides that though. And of course Miles Bridges was an unfortunate auto-draft error.
11. Flagrant Fowl - This jackass took Zion Williamson and Ben Simmons in the same draft. It's like he's a bigger fan of porn stars and League Fits than actual basketball. What an idiot... I hate the end of my draft and probably took way too many guys with injury concerns.
12. Pickle - Really solid team and I love the KD and Booker pairing because I would've done the same thing at this spot. I'm not a big fan of your run on Centers in the early-mid rounds as I think you might've been able to get better value there and taken similar players in the rounds after Poeltl. OTOH, maybe not, quality Centers were pretty hard to come by after round 8.
I follow and you probably did the right thing. I have a bad habit of taking safe older guys late and end up cutting them for someone young who pops off early in the season, so my last few picks end up being exactly like the guys you drafted once I correctly adjust.Shabazz wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 8:36 pmThere were a lot of guys I just missed on, but I actually think my team has a coherent strategy this year unlike the last few years. Last 6 rounds - I needed a SF and Jaden M fit my team best. I needed PG depth and Jaden I was best available. Huerter, Sharpe are SG-SF depth for matchups and I just love Sochan. Amen's a high upside pick.
Let's see how it plays out.
The "3 quarters for 2 dollars" special.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 10:16 pmAs always, shoot off your trade offers, we still have a week to screw up our own teams before the season even starts.
I'll even entertain the goofy stuff bIGDRAWLS0072 loves to throw out there.
Great stuff all round FF. I was a bit worried about having no SF after 8 rounds but probably over corrected with 5 of the last 6Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 6:38 pmI know you're all craving for my unsolicited draft analysis, so here you go..

Solid all around for me sounds about right-it will lead me to another middle of the pack finish as I watch LeBron and Kawhi load manage all year. My middle round picks are a total crapshoot, as I was over my in-laws and the wife was ready to head home, so I was driving and had my phone on alert for when I was up to pick. Probably not the smartest idea, but my team seems to be fairly well-rounded.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 6:38 pmI know you're all craving for my unsolicited draft analysis, so here you go..

Yeah that's what I thought
Yeah that's the default settingFlagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 10:36 pmI'm pretty sure it's the setting we've always used, or at least I've never manually changed it.
