Some media outlets initially bought Spacey’s cynical spin — a dangerous one that conflates gay men with pedophilia.
Ironically, that sentence is basically conflating ephebophilia with pedophilia. Rapp was 14 when Spacey made a pass at him.

So the victim has to be between 15-19 for it to be considered ephebophilia. Is this ok to some people? It feels like there is some type of push to normalize this in society.

No, it's no OK for an adult to come onto a 14-year-old, but it's also not the same thing as pedophilia, which is attraction to the prepubescent. I just found it ironic that a sentence decrying conflation of different sexual orientations or paraphilias was itself conflating different orientations/paraphilias.

FWIW, it seems like Rapp handled the situation pretty well in a way that, say, an eight-year-old probably wouldn't be able to.
