How many important characters have actually died in battle though? The shocking deaths that GoT is known for were just that, shocking.

Were you shocked at all with the Night King dying before he got to kill Bran?

After the fact, no not at all. In the moment though, Arya flying out of nowhere was definitely shocking to me lol

I was shocked by his death--Im still trying to figure out why so much was made about the knight king, and literally have him die in the first battle.

Episode 4 wasn't that good. Kinda glad this show is ending. It jumped the shark after season 6 IMO.

I thought there were great parts last night, but this show has gotten really bad at military strategy (and strategy in general). How in the world does a sailing fleet sneak up on a pair of dragons? And can't you attack the fleet from the rear if you are flying on a dragon? They can't turn their crossbows towards their own masts and ships... it was crazy.

I think it is telling that GRRM has said he has nothing to do with the show anymore (besides cashing checks).

It really feels like they're racing to finish this thing up. That's the only probable explanation I can come up with for some of the decisions they've made, for example, sniping a dragon out of the sky with two bolts fired form a ship. That one feels especially lazy to me.

Especially being their first two bolts fired, but then after firing dozens more they can't hit the other one?

I loved the Battle for Winterfell. You can pick apart any show if you want. They gave the fans too much or not enough. People have wondered fo 8 seasons who would kill the night king. Daenerys Took the first shot at him with a blast from her dragon and then we find out he is impervious to fire. Then Jon decided to take a shot at him right after that when the night king was by himself and vulnerable. But then he raised an army around him and quelled that plan.

Arya was a good choice. She has been training to be an assassin for years and even then she was caught in mid air and had to use a slight of hand to get her shot in.

The episode was dark but, it was at night with a night king made storm to mask the attack even further. To fact you couldn’t see well is what makes it scarier.

The bolts fired at the dragon was a little bit of a stretch. The power needed to shoot that high and fast wouldn’t come from a stretched piece of wood imo. How do they sneek up? It appeared that they were near shore and their fleet was behind a mountain hiding waiting to take their shots. Them hitting the first dragon and not the second I was OK with. They didn’t know they were being attacked when it was hit so they weren’t trying to evade. After it was hit she made a run at them and turned at the last second to avoid being shot. It’s not as easy to hit a target that is trying to evade you.

They managed to put dragon killing ship killing crossbows on every ship and every fifty feet around the capital? Did Congress authorize that?

Arya and Clegane heading for Kings Landing to settle business? Obviously Clegane is going to kill his bro the Mountain. Arya heading there to kill Cercei? The obvious won’t happen. I predict Clegane will get mortality wounded by his bro and Arya will finish the Mountain off for him and then receive clegane’s last dying words.

I think Daenerys will kill Cercei in a good old hand to hand combat. Both of them aren’t known as fighters so that would be a great hair pulling girl fight.

They get busted in the last episode for leaving a Starbuck coffee on the table in front of Daenerys. I wonder if that was a mistake or a paid mistake.

I subscribe to the idea that Arya will kill Cersei while wearing Jamie's (or Tyrion's) face.

I think Daenerys won't make it to end. Too many people are working against her and she's lost top people in her cabinet in back to back weeks. Also, Varys seems pretty good at picking the right horse to back and he's riding with Team Jon.

Clegane Bowl is a tough one to handicap. The Mountain has every advantage but him killing the Hound seems out of step for these show writers.

Clegane and Arya finish off the Mountain and Arya takes his face and as Cersei gives the order for the Mountain to execute Daenerys or Jon who have been captured, instead the Mountain/Arya lobs off Cersei’s head instead.

THat seems more likely because I don't see Cersei letting Tyrion get anywhere near her.

Pretty good episode in terms of direction and visuals. People complaining about the writing and character arcs, which is not to be ignored, but that was the best episode of the season thus far.

So much for, "I'm not here to be queen of the ashes."

I'm glad this is wrapping up because it's becoming more ridiculous by the week.

Stunning visuals. That is about all I can say for that last episode.

Oh, and I wonder how many of those notes Varys got out to the corners of the world...

Enough that it's no secret... I think Jon is in big trouble.

I found Dany's heel turn unearned but a friend pointed out that she only claims to be the one that offers mercy. That in fact she has always completely obliterated anyone that didn't agree with her. In her mind all of King's Landing was team Cersei. Tyrion has been her conscience since Mereen and since she no longer trusts him...

Alas, I'll be happy to see Arya lop off her head next episode.

Whose face will she wear? Gray Worm's is the only one that makes sense to me.

If there is any good in the world, Sansa will be King of the 7 Kingdoms and do it from the North. Or they just have 7 separate kingdoms.

The last thing that world needs is Jon leading them. I am not sure that guy has made a single smart decision in all of his life. He just keeps failing up.
