No worries. Thanks Marty. I should have just gone with my instincts and just deleted it and banned them. Props to them for attempting to make it look like they were trying to benefit the site with ad revenue.

Yeah, these people with questionable links to hot deals or business propositions are just spammers. They have a variety of scams; sometimes they trick you into showing their ad for a few days and then they ghost you. Basically they just want you to link to their spammy site so Google and other search bots will boost their page rank. It's black-hat SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

This site is not ever going to do promotional garbage like that. If, say, the Suns Organization came to me and told me they want $10m to buy the site from me, sorry, I'll sell. But I'm not going to give out random sponsored content on the site. I briefly had an ad here to pay the hosting costs, but I got rid of it because it was kind of silly to make everybody look at an ad just so I could get a few bucks a month. This site is just meant to be a small community; I'll gladly pay a few bucks a month to keep it running.

That's really nice of you. But honestly the cost of running the site is not much, and I enjoy providing this place for everyone. Really appreciate the support and offer to help, but the best thing you can do is just keep coming here and posting, because that's what gives me joy, interacting with all of you guys.
