Arizona State football

Post by SunsRIt »

Sorry, I just need to vent a little.

Just how bad was the Herm Edwards hiring? Edwards had a player in Jalen Daniels that transferred out of ASU to LSU, won the Heisman Trophy, was named quarterback of the year and he could do nothing with him. The team was mediocre, at best, under his regime and today we find out the program is getting NCAA sanctions because he committed recruiting violations while head coach at ASU. ESPN said this "Arizona State received four years of probation, an undisclosed fine, vacated games in which ineligible players competed, reduced scholarships and recruiting restrictions. The NCAA did not provide further details about any of those punishments. The school also disassociated from a booster for five years." The man had a very good quarterback, cheated to recruit and still couldn't put a decent team on the field. So in hiring him as a coach ASU was set back 9 years(5 years as head coach and 4 years probation) in its program. Why is the goal for ASU football always mediocre?

. College sports is a joke. The NIL and transfer portal was icing on the cake. College sports are for towns with no legitimate professional sports. Ban ASU for 30 years for all I care. Send them to Salt Lake too, there's no chance they ever compete consistently

It seems almost impossible to argue against that being the case.

Prayers for Ricky Pearsall to make a full recovery.

That was a great game. ASU football looks like it might be back on the map.

Just like the Rose Bowl with Jake Plummer. AZ sports teams always know how to lose in the most heartbreaking ways possible.

Once again officiating is questionable.

That play in OT was absolutely Targeting. Everyone knows it. It met 2 of the 3 criteria for calling targeting, and you only need one of the criteria to be met. Giving up that 4th & 13 killed them. That was ridiculous, and the people they blitzed with made zero sense in that defensive play call. They deserved to lose after that, so I can't be mad that they lost.

Did anyone see when the fg was blocked that it bounced over the goal posts? Well, it's going around the internet that in the rule book, that should have counted. Idk if that's true or not, but I was commenting to my boys when we were watching it that I've never seen that happen before when it happened live. I didn't think much of it past that though at the time.
