Professional soccer in Spain has three tiers: First division (la Liga), 2nd division and 2nd-B. Everything else is considered amateur.

that's what i thought/suspect. the 47 tiers seems kinda exaggerated. they're just amateur leagues.

Rumor has it the Liverpool has accepted Barca's offer of Sanchez and £40M for Suarez. Steal for Liverpool if it comes to fruition IMO.

KLM tweeted (and deleted) "adios amigos" after the match, and it lit the mexican twitter world on fire, with many calling the tweet racist, and gael garcia bernal tweeting/vowing he'd never to ride KLM again.

Weird move from Netherlands coach to change goalkeeper right before the penalty shootout. But ... It worked!!

So semi finals are : Germany - Brazil and Netherlands - Argentina... Should be cool, although no more Neymar for Brazil

Argentina - Brazil would make an awesome final.

Still think its Germanys to lose, sitting Mertesacker was wise, he's been letting too many in behind him.

I agree that Germany looks to be in the best shape to win it all. I'd put my money on a Holland vs. Germany final at this point. Two teams I predicted to come short of expectations prior to the cup. Wishful prognostication, I suppose.

Any of you guys follow MLS? I support Portland Timbers and I've even been to a half dozen matches or so in the last couple of years. It's gonna be pretty awesome when Bayern Munich comes to Portland to play the MLS all-stars next month.

Bayern vs MLS All stars will be fun because BM is STACKED, but the overall lack of talent makes a lot of MLS matches hard to watch.

Welp if the Suns strike out in FA at least my football team looks like its all but locked a huge transfer in Alexis Sanchez. Just when Wenger looks to have run his course, he adds Ozil/Sanchez and wins the FA Cup.

I agree that MLS can be hard to watch at times. Lucky for me that the Timbers are a pretty entertaining squad by any standard.

On the other hand, its not like all european leagues are always a lot better. I'd much rather watch a random MLS game over something like West Brom vs. Norwich.
