The GOP / RNC

Re: The GOP / RNC
I don't actually get it. Who are the 12 fellas who are "down"? And why is she being roasted for saying that? I honestly don't have the context. Can somebody explain like I'm 5?
Re: The GOP / RNC
I don’t know either. Maybe she is talking about Republican Presidential candidates that have all dropped out leaving just her and Trump.

Re: The GOP / RNC
OK, I think I maybe get it now. So I think her comment about "12 down" means that she's caused 12 men to drop out of the Republican primary? And the 1 to go is meant to be Trump? Then I looked at the twitter comments, and I think people are implying that she is making it sound like she slept with 12 men? Is there a stereotype or rumor that Nikki Haley is promiscuous? I am pretty online, but not online enough to have heard that one. Honestly I didn't get this on like 4 levels.
Re: The GOP / RNC
Well, she did cheat on her husband when he was in the service and overseas, but overall, I don't think she's necessarily promiscuous. It's just the day and age that it's suspect, what she said.

Re: The GOP / RNC
I like Haley better than Trump, and I'm glad she has become willing to attack him recently. But when she says things like this, she gives the game away. If you'll pardon Trump, you're no good to me.

Oh mori…. I read it that way the first time but I’m funny like that. I blame your sleep deprivation from the kiddos.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 12:56 pmOK, I think I maybe get it now. Re: The GOP / RNC
Cohen sent to prison for paying off Trumps porn star mistress. The National Enquirer pays off Trumps Playboy Bunny mistress to keep her story quiet. Trump, “I’m so famous I can grab’em by the pussy.” Trump found guilty of rape in a court of law. Maga says i’s all fake and the courts are all fake and Trump is clearly innocent of any wrongdoing. Maga doesn’t care how many women Trump has slept with while being married or how sleazy he is but, there is a rumor Nikki Haley had an affair years ago and that is enough for Maga to claim it as fact and they think it shows she is not worthy of being President because anyone who would have an affair is not US Presidential material.

Trump's base of MAGA supporters has launched a new attack on his political rival, stemming from old rumors of Haley having two different affairs in the early 2000s. Haley firmly denied any accusations of unfaithfulness to her husband, Michael Haley, at the time that these rumors first surfaced. The rumors were never proven and no significant new information has emerged about the old accusations, but that hasn't stopped Trump supporters from spreading them again.

That's not why they don't think she's a good candidate. There are many reasons.

Why is Maga pimping this story if it doesn’t matter to them?

And all of that doesn't phase the evangelicals one bit.

Re: The GOP / RNC
Do you think that maga and evangelicals vote en masse with the same and/or only one reason?
Some will not vote because they consider all the candidates to have engaged in adultery. Some won't care. Some will think it's hypocritical of candidate to point out someone else's infidelity, while ignoring their own and won't vote for the hypocrit. Some will vote for the person that is the nicest. Some will vote because the person is a certain gender or a certain race or not a certain race. ect. It's a combination or single issue. Some will vote for the party candidate, just because they are the party candidate. ect. ect. ect.
Everyone votes with the knowledge they have on each candidate. If they have more on one candidate vs. another, they vote that way. If they think one thing about one candidate, and another about the other, even if the information is wrong or incomplete, they will vote to their preference.

Re: The GOP / RNC
Obviously, it's not all of them but a surprising number are willing to look the other way when it comes to Trump in spite of all his infidelity and non-Christian ways.

Re: The GOP / RNC
I think we can agree that there's turds out there in any group no matter what religion or political affiliation is. I just get tired of this narrative that evangelicals all are for trump when that is not the case at all.

It's true, not everyone is exactly the same and all lumped into the same box.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 5:37 pmI think we can agree that there's turds out there in any group no matter what religion or political affiliation is. Most White Americans who regularly attend worship services voted for Trump in 2020

About seven-in-ten White, non-Hispanic Americans who attend religious services at least monthly (71%) voted for Trump, while roughly a quarter (27%) voted for Biden.

Re: The GOP / RNC
I think it's pretty funny that Trump is going to raid the RNC's funds to pay his legal bills and find his campaign. He might honestly bankrupt them.
