What happened to the world our parents tried raising us to believe in and contribute to? We're okay with a reality TV millionaire running our country, demeaning women in the most sexist and misogynist ways possible, mocking the physical and mentally handicapped and being blatantly racist towards minorities? Imagine if you could revisit us at those times and fast forward to today. Could you tell us those same things to strive for while looking at Donald Trump and telling us you're also voting for everything you told us NOT to be or do? I'm so conflicted and torn about the society we've formed as people where someone can be everything we're taught not to be growing up yet we admire or support today. What happened and how did we get here? It would kill me to try and sit down with my niece and explain the things that are being said.

This isn't about Hillary Clinton vs Donald Trump and Clinton being more terrible because of political reasons or whatever you want to debate to counter this. We don't talk to our children about politics. We talk to our children about being good people. As a child, politics and being good don't go hand in hand. If everything we've known to be not good as traits of a loving person is now okay, than what is love and respect for one another really?

You guys missed the point on the impressive thing.

And ironic you quote JFK to make a point about Trump and women.

It wasn't a comparison of morality. It was 2 famous quotes from prior Presidents, both their most well known, in comparison to the quotes from our future, potential POTUS that he'll likely be known for.

And the impressive thing wasn't about morality or character either.

It is impressive how nothing bad he does sways his followers in any way.

There's no doubt that a LOT of US Presidents have had sexual infidelities while being in the WH. Most of the time it was covered up or not found out until later on. In todays times everything is recorded and Trump has a huge mouth and a voracious appetite for women. He just happens that be one of the sleaziest ever and got caught before the election.

Obama, I might add has seemed like a complete Saint while in office. Not even a hint of infidelity. His wife is his partner and you can tell they both respect each other immensely. Of there was any dirt Republicans would have unearthed it a long time ago. I am pretty proud to say Obama has been my all time favorite US President in my lifetime.

Stop defending him Nodack! I can't believe you think anything about how he has convinced nearly half of the country to vote for him could be impressive! Trump lover!

Exactly. For some reason you guys don't realize that you can make a strong impression without it being positive.

It is impressive how he can continually shoot himself in the foot with the things he says yet maintain a huge following of people willing to vote for him. I get it now.

It is not only impressive, it is so sad and demoralizing to our country.

And I should add that I know nice, smart, educated people that plan to vote for him. Sure, I know more idiots that are voting for him, but still, there are smart people that support him. That is what amazes me (and really scares me).

I think for some the system is broken and they don't believe politicians will do anything to fix it, because they are bought and paid for. Trump as much a complete scumbag as he is represents somebody on the outside promising to change it all. I think they are willing to overlook his douchbagness if it means changing things for the better.

I think the system is broken to a certain degree myself and feel some of that too. Unfortunately I think Trump is such an out of touch rich egomaniac scumbag used to getting his way and the second somebody challenges him they become his bitter enemy that he needs to destroy. I am not fit to be President but, I would trust myself to make better decisions than he would.

I liked Bernie. He wasn't that much of an outsider but, he convinced me that he wasn't bought and paid for and that he understood the problems we faced. Socialism. Its a scary sord for many. Its just a word. I am for whatever works the best for everybody. We already have lots of Socialism that no American would be willing to give up.

If I were President my stance on healthcare would be to analyze the top 20 health care systems in the world and try to come up with a system that emulates the best parts of all of them. I don't care what system their government is. Whatever works best is what we should strive for. Must cover eveybody. Must be affordable. Must get the job done.

Get the money out of politics. Many millions spent every year on lobbying? Really? Many millins spent on campaigns? Really? Corporations donating to campaigns? No way.

We should lower our deficit. Taxes pay for the deficit. Lowering taxes always sounds good but, is it? Does lowering taxes always equal a better economy? I cannot see how it pays off our debt. The standard Republican thinking is like Trumps view. "Why should I pay taxes? They are just going to squander it. It just goes t pay other peoples free lunch. Provably some of it does but, some of it pays for all that stuff we take for granted like the military, schools etc. I am certainly not rich but, I am willing to pay my fair share to help pay for all those things.

All these loopholes and deductions mean people like Trump get away with never paying taxes.

We are probably going to get Hillary for President. She is a life long politician who knows every little thing there is to know about Washington. She is going to be par for the course, say all the right things but, she isnt going to fix illegal immigration, make the tax system fair, lower the deficit or make American companies make their products in the US. She will slightly tweek Obamacare but, not really. I'm ok with it because at least she won't launch all our nukes the first time NK, Russia, China or Iran insults her.

No President can do those things without help from Congress. The flaws in the ACA aren't going to be fixed because the Republican majority doesn't want it to work.

If it is depressive, that means it is making a marked impression. Again, you are choosing to be obtuse for the sake of trying to down play his level of support in this country. It is a good thing the season starts soon!
