Yes, I stand by my stance that Republicans are anti-US Government.
I think it is fair to say Trump Republicans are pretty anti-government. But in general, Republicans are only against the part of the government that is meant to support our society, and for the parts that are built to destroy others. It is an over simplifications, but close.

Well, you didn't actually "hear" me say it, haha.

I stand by what I said, when the truth comes out, I want to hear it. Even if it goes against what I previously believed to be true. It might hurt, but it's ok. Like, thank you for saying that. **sigh...sigh** **sniff, sniff** It hurt, but...I'll be stronger for your words of truth.

Well I sincerely applaud your pursuit of truth, I sincerely resent the sources you offer up as evidence of it.

And these two statements being so diametrically opposed is what prompted my blunt response - work on the latter and I’ll start to believe you on the former.

You may need to be more specific on the particular sources that you resent.

Work with me, and stop being elusive. I didn't even realize that posted a source in this discussion with you, so which ones in particular?

Please keep in mind that I do not consider you to be the gatekeeper of truth or the authority of sources, but I'll take your opinion under advisement. There are times that I am in agreement of your opinion, but don't let that scare you.

Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking arrest

I am hardly the gatekeeper of truth - but I certainly try to be, as impossible a task as that is (as some level of bias in interpreting an event is usually inevitable).

I’m about to go on holiday (to Adelaide, South Australia) til Sunday so will think about the best way to explain quality sources when I’m back.

Just keep it to yourself, I'm not interested unless you are specific.

Have a good time on holiday. Be safe.

This isn't specific to the Epstein or Maxwell trial, but thought it fit here. I also don't think it should just be glossed over.

THE SECRET CIA FILES
CIA Files Say Staffers Committed Sex Crimes Involving Children. They Weren’t Prosecuted.
Declassified CIA inspector general reports show a pattern of abuse and a repeated decision by federal prosecutors not to hold agency personnel accountable.

Over the past 14 years, the Central Intelligence Agency has secretly amassed credible evidence that at least 10 of its employees and contractors committed sexual crimes involving children.

Though most of these cases were referred to US attorneys for prosecution, only one of the individuals was ever charged with a crime. Prosecutors sent the rest of the cases back to the CIA to handle internally, meaning few faced any consequences beyond the possible loss of their jobs and security clearances. That marks a striking deviation from how sex crimes involving children have been handled at other federal agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Administration. CIA insiders say the agency resists prosecution of its staff for fear the cases will reveal state secrets.

The revelations are contained in hundreds of internal agency reports obtained by BuzzFeed News through Freedom of Information Act lawsuits.

One employee had sexual contact with a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old. He was fired. A second employee purchased three sexually explicit videos of young girls, filmed by their mothers. He resigned. A third employee estimated that he had viewed up to 1,400 sexually abusive images of children while on agency assignments. The records do not say what action, if any, the CIA took against him. A contractor who arranged for sex with an undercover FBI agent posing as a child had his contract revoked.

Only one of the individuals cited in these documents was charged with a crime. In that case, as in the only previously known case of a CIA staffer being charged with child sexual crimes, the employee was also under investigation for mishandling classified material.

Another attack on another US Institution In2? This is what I am talking about. Yes pedophiles are bad. I could do a search of Republican pedophiles and amass a pretty huge list if I am looking to paint them as pedophiles. You would never in a million years do that because you are pro Republican and “anti-authoritarian” government, which as you know to me translates into anti-US Government.

I could post article after article talking about Republican pedophiles which would give you the “truth” you were looking for but not the “truth” you were looking for as a Republican.

Trump and Republicans and their pals who are pedophiles and sexual abusers.

I am guessing the point of you posting that was to prove the CIA is yet another evil US institution. If true I just proved that Republicans are an evil institution filled with pedophiles. Will that deter you from staying Republican? Of course not. Will your anti-US institution post make me hate the US Government? Of course not.

So let’s continue to play our propaganda game.

I have no problem with you posting those, Nodack. Saved me the time, and I've cooled on posting them since 3rdside and you guys are taking offense to them. We have no idea if these in the CIA were Reps or Dems, do we?

I don't give a rip whether it's Republican or Democrat. You're the one that seems to be offended and defensive for your Party. Do you want these people to be in charge of things and let them go undiscovered and unhindered? Should we just give them a free pass and not report on it? Would you just rather not know?

My point is that you as a Republican are always attacking the US government like you are supposed to do as a Republican. You don’t care if they are Republicans or Democrats? You will never ever post an article saying Republicans are pedophiles but won’t hesitate for a second to post an article saying a Democrat is a pedophile.

Do I want pedophiles in charge of anything? No. There are pedophiles in every facet of society. They can be bakers, doctors, politicians, musicians, firemen and even priests, black, white and everything in between. Your focus is in attacking the government. That is my point.

I'm pretty much the only conservative on here. Do I have an army of posters coming to my defense over and over, or is it the opposite? Would you rather I just post about the evils that Republicans do and never post about the evils of Democrats? I know without a doubt that you would prefer that, but why should I? Are there not articles after articles after articles posted by everyone else on here to do that? Do you feel like I'm attacking you with these? I can assure you that I'm not, and they have nothing to do with you or any of the posters here, unless you are somehow working in DC and only act like you live in Scottsdale, watch the Suns at Zipps, and work as a musician. ;)

I get it that you are the only Republican posting here for the most part and that can be frustrating I am sure. I don’t feel like you are attacking me. I feel like you are attacking Dems and the US government. You are sticking up for your side and I guess we are sticking up for our side. I would like to think our side is America and not just Dems or Republicans. I am pissed off and frustrated with Republicans and I assume you are pissed off and frustrated with Dems.

I talk about my mother and brother being Republicans. My wife and I take care of my mother and step father. My mother spends her entire day reading FOX news and reading the comment sections where she has learned that all Democrats are evil and trying to destroy America. My mother kicked my wife out of her house a few days ago because mom started in with “Did you here what the Democrats are doing now?” and it went downhill from there.

My brother, sister and I have never had a fight growing up. Not one. Now my brother and I don’t talk much anymore because of our polar opposites in politics. His last comment to me was in a text.

“When this intolerance of someone else’s opinion finally reaches it’s apex - our country will more closely resemble Nazi Germany in 1939 or the Soviet Union in 1960.

Enjoy your freedoms while they still exist.”

Sorry about your family not having the same ideology as you and your wife. I too have a brother that has an opposite view as I do. It happens. I'm also sorry that your mother is allowing politics get in the way of your relationship with your wife, who is taking care of your mom and step father.

My mother is 88 and I can’t hold her responsible. Her grasp on reality is slowly fading. She is very gullible. She receives a ton of right wing propaganda in the mail because she keeps giving them money. Even my right wing brother tells her to stop sending them money and tells her it’s all a scam. I am pretty sure that 90% of the mail is just scams trying to get people to send in money. I don’t even believe the people sending her the crap believe in it. They are probably Dems milking Cons out of their money for all I know.

My brother says he isn’t a fan of Trump. He couldn’t care any less about abortion and isn’t religious at all. The only reason he is a right winger imo is because he loves guns and is afraid Dems want to take away his guns. He hangs out with other gun lovers who are Republicans so he has a little of that anti-Government thing going on. He hates government regulations of any kind too.
