He has been working for the government as an immunologist since 1984. So yeah, Ronnie, Bush, Clinton, Bushy, Obama, and now Trump. So 6 presidents.

And he did his job advising those Presidents with no issue and no one knew or cared about him until Trump trotted him out for his reality TV press conferences to get his ratings. Now half the country thinks he's the enemy because Trump didn't listen to him.

Took him 4 months...let's see if the "anti-maskers" keep up their nonsense.

It's an amazing picture, in that (a) it's absolutely the right thing for him to do, and it's good that he's wearing it; (b) he clearly doesn't want to wear it and is doing so angrily and begrudgingly; (c) all his followers who have said for months that masks were stupid and unnecessary will now immediately flip and say they always did support masks; (d) Trump buckling and wearing a mask is one of his biggest admissions so far that his "plan" of completely ignoring COVID-19 and acting like everything is just fine has been an abject disaster. Even he cannot deny the seriousness of the pandemic any more.

I really think that COVID is going to be the ultimate undoing of Trump's presidency. He has done such a singularly bad job handling it, and all signs are that the US will be in very bad shape in November. I think the voters are going to kick the guy out unless there is some kind of miraculous turnaround. He has just completely failed to do anything whatsoever to stop this horrible catastrophe that has killed 137,000 Americans and counting. Unconscionable.

Only thing I have seen on him was daddy Bush calling him out as an amazing servant in the federal government that we should all appreciate. I think it was late 80s or early 90s.

Trump Administration Strips C.D.C. of Control of Coronavirus Data

Hospitals have been ordered to bypass the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and send all patient information to a central database in Washington, raising questions about transparency.

The move has drawn criticism from some public health experts, who say the White House has been politicizing science and sidelining the CDC in its response to the pandemic.

The facts are not on their side, so they are trying to take control of facts themselves, or the dissemination thereof. My GOP friends are cheering this news because they think the CDC is biased and cooking the numbers to make Trump look bad (?).

Well I am sure a 'balanced and fair' new source was telling them that.

Why Arizona Wasn’t Ready for Its Coronavirus Surge
State leaders didn’t prepare when cases were low and are now struggling to cope; ‘Everyone needed to do more’
https://www.wsj.com/articles/why-arizon ... 1594805400
A full-throttle reopening in May that drew crowds to bars and restaurants, a failure to increase testing and a lack of contact tracing have fueled an avoidable crisis, they said. Now, 26.46% of tests in the past seven days have come back positive, the highest rate in the nation, according to Johns Hopkins University data. And some 3,000 people are hospitalized with Covid-19 daily, compared to 789 two months ago, when the state first reopened.

In Maricopa County, home to Phoenix and the third highest number of cases in the country, officials said the virus is so widespread that contact tracing is no longer effective.

Ducey is worthless as a leader. He completely wasted the time people in AZ gave him by quarantining. Instead he spent it trying to get Trump to notice him.

The possible scenario I keep hearing about is roughly the following: Trump spends lots of time between now and Nov talking about voter fraud and how vote-by-mail is evil and prone to tampering. Then we do the real election and lots of Dems vote by mail. By the end of election night, the mail votes haven't been counted. Without the mail votes, maybe Trump squeaks ahead. He insists that states call the election and certify the result. States with GOP House majority do so and submit their electoral college votes. The mail votes that would tip the election blue never get counted.

Is it possible? Can state legislatures do such a thing?
