Prisons are at high risk. This scenario also played out in China.

I can't even wrap my head around the shit that Trump is spewing.

And I wouldn't put it past him to use the outbreak as some excuse to put off the election if it looks like he's going to lose come summertime.
The Constitution gives that authority to Congress, not the President.

For those of you interested in investing, I just bought SVXY because VIX has never stayed at these levels for more than a couple of weeks, even in late 2008 it retreated down to the 30s quickly. It will be the same I feel. Wonder how you gents feel about this.
I have no idea what this means virt

A simpler update -- stock markets are down 5% but the fear index (VIX) is down even more. What that means is that people are starting to feel just a bit more confident despite the down action. We're inching closer to a bottom.

FYI SVXY started to behave very strangely, big discrepancy between the value of the security and net asset value (what the underlying assets are worth). Sold at a loss just in case it started to behave like XIV.

Now they're saying that they may pass a stimulus to just give free money to many Americans. $1000 or $2000 a month. Andrew Yang must be crying a single tear somewhere.

As long as it’s Trumps idea, it’s not socialism. Yangcare became Trumpcare. Romneycare became Obamacare.

Let's just hope his 2nd term is a casualty of this war.

It would make for a pretty solid silver lining to this catastrophe.

I don't see how he could possibly get re-elected after such a catastrophe in the last year of his presidency, unless he goes full dictator and cancels the election or something.

There are at least 43% of voters that will vote for him no matter what. Literally, no matter what.

And there will be plenty more that say "he saved us" during this event by giving away cash to all people and cancelling rent/mortgage payments.

I think too many people will die to just let this particular crisis go. Trump may end up rightly taking blame for up to hundreds of thousands, or millions, of dead Americans. You can't win an election after that.

He's too stupid to realize that this crisis would've won him the next election if he had taken the right measures 6 weeks ago.

One thing about the Trump presidency that was most scary for me is the "false news" narrative. His most ardent support base will believe that there was a legitimate reason for all of these things that we conclude are due to Trump's mismanagement. Those 43% that Indy mentioned will believe that this is a China virus that the Chinese had deliberately sent to the US and therefore we need a hawk in the White House like Trump, who showed China who's the boss by winning that trade war, who will also emerge victorious in this virus war.

Burr could have fucked up that particular narrative for Trump:

But I do note that Trump's approval rating hasn't budged.
