Not sure what MTG thinks she will get from this. The party majority is slim and they need to stick together during an election year. It seems like a cry for attention.

It is so silly that the GOP can just threaten to shut down the government every 45 days until they get policy concessions.

Greene is a joke. It seems like her only aim is to cause as much chaos and disfunction as possible. Anyone in her party that works at all with any Democrat on anything is attacked by her. She seems to genuinely enjoy being disrespectful to everyone. Trump must be really proud of her.

That may be the case, but there are some things that you can't give into in this omni bill. If the Reps presented a omnibus bill that had a legislation to get rid of abortion except in extreme cases, the Dems couldn't vote for that, right?

Here is a possible example. It is presented as a clear cut & dry measure that is seems logical and reasonable, but is there something in it that is antithetical to Dems? I haven't read it, but wouldn't be surprised if it had a poison pill in it:

The whole immigration fight never ends. Trump said “ “Today it was announced that 325,000 people were flown in from parts unknown”.

Fact Focus: Claims Biden administration is secretly flying migrants into the country are unfounded
https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-m ... a05b2b20a7
But migrants are not being flown into the U.S. randomly. Under a Biden policy in effect since January 2023, up to 30,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela can enter the country monthly if they apply online with a financial sponsor and arrive at a specified airport, paying their own way.

The migrants are not coming in from “parts unknown,” as Trump charged. CBP vets each one for eligibility and publishes the number of airport arrivals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

Social media posts, including one by Elon Musk’s, charge that the administration is doing this to bring in voters.

But people admitted into the country under parole have no path to citizenship. They can obtain work permits for a limited time but voters must be U.S. citizens.

Angelo Fernández Hernández, a White House spokesperson, said Wednesday that reports of secretly flying people into the country were “categorically false” and that Cubans, Haitian, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans were “thoroughly screened.”

Claims that Biden is ‘secretly’ flying immigrants into U.S. cities ignore key facts
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2 ... s-cities-/

The federal government transports adult detainees in its custody from one facility to another, or from one U.S. city to another during deportation proceedings.

The vast majority of people on the flights are unaccompanied minors who crossed the border, requested asylum under immigration law, and are being released from federal custody to a parent or sponsor.

Some of these flights happen at night, but they are not covert operations. The same types of flights were done by the Trump administration.

The ad contains only an element of truth. We rate it Mostly False.

Of course she has been lying the entire time. She is part of Maga. You can’t be part of Maga unless you are willing to lie profusely.

It's like the old joke. How can you tell they're lying? Their lips are moving. Or in this case, they're Maga.

Trump praising all the authoritarian leaders around and even hosting them at his property should be a hint into his mindset. Trump refusing to acknowledge losing the election and then trying to steal it is another clue.

Rupar ain't the one who wrote the article. The American Conservative wrote it. I think it is noteworthy that a major Republican publication is openly calling for the ignoring / abolition of the Constitutional Amendment that bars Trump from staying as President past 2028.
The case of Donald Trump, however, makes an even more forceful ethical argument against the Twenty-second Amendment and for its repeal: If a man who once was president returns, after a series of years, to stand again for the office and proves so popular as to earn a second nonconsecutive term—as Trump seems bound to do—to deny him the right to run for a second consecutive term cuts against basic fair play. If, by 2028, voters feel Trump has done a poor job, they can pick another candidate; but if they feel he has delivered on his promises, why should they be denied the freedom to choose him once more?

“It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Get it over quick,” Walberg says in a video circulating on social media, referencing the Japanese cities that the U.S. dropped atomic bombs on at the end of World War II.

Walberg, a Republican from Lenawee County, also is heard in the video speaking out against humanitarian aid for those in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian territory on the brink of famine after more than five months of Israel's war against Hamas, militant group that set off the conflict with its Oct. 7 attack on Israeli citizens, killing 1,200 and taking 240 hostages.

“We shouldn’t be spending a dime on humanitarian aid," Walberg said.

Walberg’s office provided a transcript of the rest of his answer during the town hall that says Walberg went on to say the same reasoning should apply in Ukraine to “defeat Putin quick,” saying that instead of U.S. aid to Ukraine being used for humanitarian purposes, it should be used “to wipe out Russia, if that’s what we want to do.”

He sounds like Putin’s people. They all say Putin should use nukes. I don’t think these people have thought this through. The end of all life on planet earth is kind of a big gamble.
