Pa. Sen. Jim Brewster Not Sworn In As State Senate Dissolves Into Chaos Over Contested Election
Republicans also voted on a motion to remove Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, a Democrat, as the presiding officer, after Fetterman insisted that Brewster be seated with the other senators.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (KDKA) — A local Democratic state senator, certified by the state as receiving the most votes, was denied his seat in the Pennsylvania Senate in a raucous swearing-in day at the state Capital in Harrisburg.

Senate Republicans, who hold the majority, refused to let Pa. Sen. Jim Brewster of McKeesport take the oath of office. When Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, a Democrat, came to Brewster’s defense, the Republicans removed him as presiding officer.

I hope they are right. Pence thumbing his nose at Trump tomorrow would put the icing on the cake. Trumps Proud Boys that he has never heard of were told to stand by and stand ready during the debates. Trump has told his supporters to wildly protest and has a rally Wednesday. They just clashed with police Tuesday night. DC has called in the National Guard to deal with them.

A HUGE day in A,erica. Georgia runoff results deciding the control of the Senate and the entire country, Electoral College certification and Trumps wild protest preceded by a Trump rally where he fires them up.

These results send a loud and clear message that voters will punish politicians who try to take away their right to choose their own leaders.

I found this a great explanation of the implications here. Moscow Mitch can't block Biden's agenda anymore and a "gang" of moderate Senators centered around Romney and Joe Manchin are going to determine what passes and what does not.

It sends a loud and clear message that Dems can win by a razor-thin margin during a pandemic that the Reps have famously bungled. If you see this as a bullish sign for the midterms and 2024, I wish I could share your optimism.

But the Democrats bungled this, too. It would have been a blowout had it not been for the asinine calls on the far left during the BLM protests that we should just let the rioters loot and burn because "we need to understand their anger". Or had AOC and the progressive wing not pushed stuff that was really far out there and let the "socialism" label stick.

What I'm really worried about is that the progressive and moderate wings of the Democrats go into civil war mode like the Trumpist and (in the sense that they talk a good game) Constitutionalist wings of the Republican Party. In the chaos you might see enough Trumpists win in 2024 to gain real power. But as long as the Republicans stay in civil war mode while the Democrats keep cohesive, I'm pretty optimistic.

Fox News Cuts Away From Don Jr. Speech After He Starts Screaming Profanities
https://www.mediaite.com/tv/fox-news-cu ... ofanities/
The Trump scion used much of his furious speech to swear political vengeance on Republicans who do not back his father and allies in their attempt to overthrow the election.

“This isn’t their Republican Party anymore. This is Donald Trump’s Republican Party,” he proclaimed. “If you’re gonna be the zero and not the hero, we’re coming for you and we’re going to have a good time doing it!”

This is incredible. The Dems have taken the Senate! In just 4 years, Donald Trump has lost the GOP the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. He is so toxic. Finally the Dems are going to be able to bring real legislation to the floor and make things better. Getting Mitch McConnell out as Majority Leader of the Senate is huuuuuuge and will stop his horrible reign of obstruction of legislation. I am giddy.

It is great. I mean, a lot better than it could be. But this means people like Joe Manchin have the most power in the Senate. And people like Sinema. You know, the ones that sided with Trump/McConnell pretty often.

Surprise, surprise. Arizona rejected and now in debate. What a spectacle.
