I've been meaning to make a thread on this since there are several things in the news about this general topic, like Florida's so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill and so on.
This week I'm seeing that the Florida department of health has issued official guidance about getting trans teens to "de-transition":
I wonder if we're bound to have a law similar to the Texas abortion punishment law, where people who assist the trans community could be sued for doing so. I thought Trump was supposed to be a symbol of a new LGBT-friendly era for the GOP?

Re: LGBTQ rights
I loved this. A Florida high school class president is openly gay and is being silenced by Florida's stupid discriminatory GOP Don't Say Gay law. He was told he couldn't talk about being gay in his speech at graduation. So instead he made a whole speech about having "curly hair" and how hard it is trying to fit in with "curly hair" in Florida's "hot and humid climate" as an extended euphemism for being gay. Bravo.

Ohio is going after trans athletes, proposing that they can be challenged and subjected to invasive testing.

“These people should be put to death,” Awes continued. “Every single homosexual in our country should be charged with a crime, the abomination of homosexuality that they have, they should be convicted in a lawful trial, they should be sentenced to death, they should be lined up against a wall and shot in the back of the head.”

Re: LGBTQ rights
Why are Christian churches (or any churches) tax-exempt? If they openly promote Republicans and discriminatory values, why do they deserve special tax status?
Re: LGBTQ rights
If you want to be tax exempt, you should have to file as a registered charity and comply with those rules/regulations. It shouldn't be hard for churches that really do that type of charity work in their community, instead of just grifting.
