2024 Presidential race

Post by Mori Chu »

They're already campaigning, so we might as well have a thread to talk about the race.

I see that Nikki Haley has declared. I just don't see what's in it for her. She has absolutely, positively, no chance. She'll be down at 1% the whole race. Interviews like this are part of the reason why. She won't criticize Trump in the slightest; she won't even state any policy positions of hers that are different from Trump's. If you won't push back against your primary opponents, why should anyone pick you?

She's just a candidate to secure votes for trump when she drops out... I'm counting on Tulsi Gabbard to do the same thing if/when she announces her run. I don't get what happened to Tulsi... She seemed good until she latched on to Trumps teet.

Until this country figures out how to keep corporations out of our politics, we'll be the same old status quo or worse. Protect the rich, screw the middle class/poor.

Yep. Our system is broken. I don’t know how to fix it. No matter what system you have, people will corrupt it because people can’t help themselves.

‘Go Back to Your Own Country’: Ann Coulter Trashes South Carolina-Born Nikki Haley
https://www.mediaite.com/politics/go-ba ... kki-haley/
She’s an absolutely ridiculous character and the only people who say they support her are people who probably, genuinely are sexist. And, “Oh I support the girl. Good for you. You like girls!”

No, she’s utterly, completely, preposterously ridiculous. I don’t think she will get more than 2% of the vote. And you know how I hate making predictions about things like that, but she’s just a preposterous creature.

But her candidacy did remind me that I need to immigrate to India so I can demand they start taking down parts of their history. What’s with the worshipping of the cows? They’re all starving over there and they’re worshipping cows? Do you know they have a rat temple where they worship? Rats? Hey babycakes, why don’t you go back to your own country and reconsider that history?

He must have seen his rankings in Presidential polls and noticed how popular he was.

Didn't want to make a thread for this, but Fox and Dominion Voting Systems have settled for $787.5 million.

What the Judge should have made them do is put together a 4 hour segment, that runs Mon-Friday during prime time showing all the bullshit they did and make them OWN it. This settlement still feels like a loss to me. This isn't accountability, this is them buying themselves out of the news cycle.

And not a single word mentioned on FOX about this anywhere. They should be forced to admit that they deliberately lied to their viewers on FOX News. Every other “News” outlet that makes a mistake comes out and make public statement correcting their previous article. FOX doesn’t have to say anything about it and the same hosts that lied on purpose can keep on as if nothing ever happened. Half the people who watch FOX will never even know about the settlement since that’s all they watch. They might even see it posted on another news site and just assume they are lying because the media, Democrats, prosecutors, FBI, DOJ, judges and jurors are all liars. Only Donald J Trump tells the truth….

While possibly not true in this case; cities, municipalities, and corporations will settle, regardless of the truthfulness of the case, if outweighed by the cost of going to trial.

The cost of your lawyers would be more than $787,000,000? I think not. I think that possibly and most likely the text messages and emails by FOX employees proving that it was “crystal clear” that FOX was intentionally lying and all the press around this makes FOX News look like total liars and that they helped sow the insurrection seeds that led to Jan 6th. That’s not a real good look for them.

Mike Lindel offered $5,000,000 to any tech firm that could prove that Mikes proof of the election stolen was false. A tech firm DID prove it and now My Pillow guy has to pay them $5,000,000.

I certainly realize that no amount of evidence is going to sway any MAGA follower that Trump was lying. They would rather believe EVERYONE else on planet earth was lying before even considering the possibility that Trump could ever be untruthful in any way.

The My Pillow guy is a buffoon. Smoked too much crack in his day and it has permanently affected his brain.

He's crushing presidential age records, that's for sure. I think he's doing a fine job but when are we going to see some good younger candidates? Even ones my age.

I'm rooting for Katie Porter to ascend. She's phenomenal IMO. Gavin Newsom may also try to run. Maybe Buttigieg. I don't think Kamala has the popularity to be POTUS.

I don’t hate Biden, but I was kinda hoping he wouldn’t run. I agree with Bone, I want some younger blood in there.

Same... We need some youth in there. I don't think Kamala has the demeanor to lead this country. We need someone to unite us, not divide us further and don't think she helps that redirect.

I haven't looked into who's currently in the running... I was liking Andrew Yang last time. Bernie would've been good, but like Biden, his age is a huge "no" for me.

Biden is too old. We do need new blood in there. Bernie is too old too and has that “Socialism” label attached to him. I am not seeing any new blood that stands out as a strong leader. I don’t know anyone who like Kamala as President. Newsom is the strongest leader I see out there but, he enjoys fighting Republicans and I don’t think would be a uniter. Yang and Buttigieg are the smartest guys out there but, I don’t know if they have the appeal to win it all and it won’t matter what Dem you elect as far as uniting the country because the other side wants nothing to do with uniting the country. Even if one of them became President and was the absolute best President ever, no wars, great economy, health care cheap, manufacturing in US, deficit reduced and whatever barometer there is for a great President, the other side will claim they were the worst President ever and that they are intentionally destroying America. That and the Sun coming up are a given. In all honesty no matter what President the Cons come up with the Dems will say they are the worst too.
