Ron Paul was very interesting, but he also had some really silly views. He wanted to cut government more than I wanted, and he thought we should put our money back on the gold standard. Oof.

Welp, and today Trump was asked flat out if he denounced the KKK, and he claimed ignorance as to who they are (or David Duke).

This is a J O K E. Idiocracy, ladies and gents!

The Trump KKK thing is preposterous. He's never heard of them? Really?! Makes me think he's getting money from white supremacists that he doesn't want to piss off.

Again, I think he's telling certain people/groups exactly what they want to hear to get elected. No different than any other politician, he's just taking it further.

Trump has been an embarrassment to the US. The world already thinks we are crazy and now Trump just multiplies it. The louder and and obnoxious you can become the higher you poll. Rubio just figured that out. Rubio desperate, took a page out of Trumps book and started to assault Trump in full playground mode and his poll numbers went up. All he had to do was start talking about Trump peeing his pants and putting on makeup between breaks and he became more popular.

Now Rubio, Trump and Cruz are in a competition to see who can claim who is lying the most.

I am a proud Moderate. We can't be all left or all right. Compromise, meet in the middle. That's where we naturally end up anyway. We aren't going to ban all guns and we aren't going to hand out guns to school children. We aren't going to go full blown Socialism and we aren't gong to eliminate the Federal Governent. We are never gong to eliminate all illegal immigration or stop all terrorism.

All these insults and childish behaviour being displayed by our supposed Presidential candidates isn't winning me over. Even Sanders and Clinton are starting to go down that road and that's disappointing.

Agreed. A few months ago, most of the candidates stayed above the fray and wouldn't resort to the Trump game. Now? The attacks and insults are flying fast and furious. Rubio up on stage reading tweets, making fun of Trump? Bernie reading his attacks on Hillary because it doesn't come natural to him? It's survival of the fittest now. No holding back. It's all just one big reality TV show, which Trump has capitalized on.

Also notice how the debates have become sporting events? The pre-debate coverage is ripped right from ESPN...might as well be watching Sunday NFL Countdown.

We are going to elect a guy in 2016 that would have fit in well in Alabama in 1962. It is so sad.

I wonder if Trump's candidacy will hurt the GOP House/Senate races. I have to believe that his inflammatory rhetoric will come to hurt the party in the 2016 races as a whole if he's the eventual nominee.

How? The House/Senate elections are at the same time as the Presidential election. Everyone who comes out to vote for Trump will vote for one of them too, and as he gets closer to the nomination, they will also start riding his coattails in support, just to make sure that they cash in on his notoriety.

Since when has inflammatory rhetoric ever hurt a politician?

It only hurts his image with the people that weren't going to vote for him anyway. Same with Benghazi and Clinton.
